It's been awhile

I haven't played DAoC in a long time, and I was wondering if things had stabalized since I left.

I left the game back when they were trying to balance the realms on some of the servers and they implemented the system of lvl 50's being able to create lvl 20 alts, and in some cases on low population realms lvl 30 alts.

This in turn unbalanced what I felt was a good server because all of the player base jumped ship and moved on to play alts in different realms on different servers. Strong guilds that were protecting our relics were suddenly MIA and the other realms with a sudden surge in lvl 30's and 20's were able to rush in and take back their prize.

I left because I couldn't seem to get a foothold on the server population shifts and the game just lost all intrest for me. It has however been a good long time and I would consider reactivating my account if things have stabalized and returned to normal again.

What you are describing never happened on my server.  In general, free level 20's has been viewed as a failure in terms of changing server populations.  Most people continue to play on just one server on one realm.  There are some people, who play 2 or 3 realms, but they are not the majority of players.  The problem with moving servers is that the equipment you get sucks.  You have no money on the new servers nor crafters.

I also do not see how a sudden increase in level 30's would help anyone out.  You couldn't have any taken out most NPC guards.

Anyway, server population is fairly stable.  Alb and Hib have the most population.  Mid, on most servers, has the least population now for a myriad of reasons.  Mid still can hold its own when someone with leadership helps them.  Also, the regular servers are clustered together.  So about 5 servers all share RvR zones.

Or you can play on the new Classic servers.  If you play there only play on Gareth.  The other two have way too low population on there to bother with.

what server do you play on ? if you look in the bouns section on the panel when your in game they should say underdog bouns... I know gaheris has them... free lvl every 2 days i believe... sure some servers dont have many people on them.. but really its more fun that way... like having the whole game to yourself... and you can play with people you have know for a long time.. as far as rvr goes used to do that on bederve.. havent since they opened up gaheris... i like the idea of going and exploreing all three realms..

Playing daoc and loving it totally..
    have Played
    Eq,Eq2,WoW,Coh,Cov,
    and other..
    which i have forgotten..

I've been playing on Gaheris since I started the game about 3-4 months ago.  It's a great server if you're more into PvE rather than PvP or RvR.  The population is perfect in my opinion... with about 500 or so people on the server most nights.  I see people in game all the time, in dungeons, towns and out in the wilderness.

The idea of playing on all three realms is great!  If you tire of one, you can head to another and fight in a completely different setting with different mobs... it's like three completely different games!
