I've been playing MMORPG's since the days of Everquest. I use to find decent roleplaying Everquest, but like all great things, it died off.
Next I played Anarchy Online. I really enjoyed the community of this game, had a great summer of roleplaying and had some great times, but that community soon too died off and Funcom is slowly dropping support for the roleplaying community.
So, played Dark Ages of Camelot a bit. I -liked- the roleplaying community of this game but again, the roleplaying servers were a joke. Sure, I was in a decent guild and progressed quite a bit but quit playing.
So, would you suggest going back to any of these or is there anything else you think might suit an avid roleplayer like me? I dont care about graphics, rather it be crappy 2D, crappy 3D, or text-based, as long as the roleplaying is decent.

You could always grab a copy of UO and play it on free shards, some of them enforce roleplaying, and even require a story/background for your character before creating an account.
http://www.rpadventure.com is a server that enforces roleplaying and took UO to another dimension (levels, races, etc...)

Horizons roleplay servers have some people that are pretty serious about it. Quite a few guilds demand serious roleplay, and there are more roleplay guilds than not on those servers.
Glad to hear some positive feedback on roleplaying in Horizons as I was looking into buying this game.
I'll have to go buy it sometime, thanks for the feedback. I'm also checking out some free UO shards. I forgot all about shards, thanks again.
