I have always loved EQ but finally I had to leave due to the staggering "dumbing down" of the game. What will i see in this game? I really like "dungeon" atmosphere, which is the sole reason i left SWG. Thanks!

I played EQ for 3 years and after all the reviews I had read it sounded like FFXI was going to be sweet. It wasnt. After going through all the Play Online software intsallation and navigation, setting up accounts, entering 3 or 4 cd keys, credit card info. patching (12 hours) etc etc. I finally got into the game, only to realize that there is a HUGE pile of menus to do any kind of action. Have to search and search for what it is you want to do. Biggest problem is there is no way to customize the UI properly (no alt/ctrl 0-9 doesnt count) so unless you can remember where in the menus the things are you want to find are youre screwed. Try asking for help? Shouted in the zone for 5 minutes - no one answers, yet I see people running around. I dont think I saw 5 people talk in shout or ooc the whole time up to lvl 23. The ones I did see were in Japanese Kanji. Grouping is near impossible unless you are a WHM (EQ cleric). Graphics are cartoony, everyone looks the same. Weapons and armor look the same, everywhere I went, there I was. The main thing for me in a game is, I want to feel like Im different, different stuff, different looking features etc. If I look like everyone else there is no real appeal at all. EQ did it right, I miss my 65 chanter /cry.
