UBIsoft canned Wolfpack studios. UBIsoft has said nothing about whats going to happen in the future, after Wolfpacks last day, May 15th.
It wouldnt be so bad if UBIsoft actually said something, but they are not saying ANYTHING. To bad Shadowbane has a bad rap or I would try to get everyone and there mother to boycott UBIsoft, but since they are catering to consoles now, it doesnt really matter anyway.
Shadowbane:
1. ONLY true seige game on the market. 2. Has more charactor/class combinations than 3 of any other MMO out now put together. 3. Has more indepth lore than any other game, and all the lore is based on player conflict, the heart and soul of a real rpg, something other games lack. 4. Tho flawed somewhat and could use a bounty system or other tweaks, its the O N L Y open combat RPG on the market. 5. True player controled world.
Nothing out there compairs to Shadowbane. If it had more stability and better graphics with a bigger development team, and alot more tweaks (due to having a bigger dev team), it would make WoW look like a childs game (well, it allready looks like that, bad analogy).
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

lol, yes the depth is unrivaled if it had better graphics and with some tweaking it would make WoW look like more of a child's game than it already is.
Originally posted by Rabidaskal Too bad it had neither which is why it crashed and burned.
WOW *does* look like a child's game. But since people dont get wow.exe errors they ended up playing that instead.
Have to love people with either crappy computers or good computers and don't know how to use them. I have a top of the line PC and the game still looks fine, do consider the age of the game.. I don't believe the game Ever crashed and burned. Its just too many young 10-14 year olds kept crying about how "hard" the game was or other reasons. As well as it is a fact that the majority of people who post and review games are people who are annoyed enough to spend the time to. I'm annoyed enough to defend it from these people. So as my other post says, go play WoW noobs if you can't play the friggen game.

By 'crash and burn' I meant the game was literally crash-prone. SB.exe and all that. I don't think the gameplay was hard, PK is the nature of the beast. But yeah it was damn hard to play when the game kept going CTD. WOW is incredibly simple and stright-forward, sometimes to the point of being condescending. Its also bug-free, stable, and free of game-breaking exploits.
I don''t really know when Humankind will die out but i''m guessing about 6 years before WOW. -BarCrow

I got sb.exe errors every once and a while, but not all that often thankfully haha. My friend never got them ever for some reason.. Yea that is true that WoW is really strait forward about how to play the game. I just think every rogue is similar in play, every hunter is similar in play, every warrior is similar in play, just the small variations based on how you specced. I mean, you will see another person with the same build as you very often. In Shadowbane you can do some crazy builds that you hardly ever see and that rock, although there are a few cookie cutter builds that arise when people see its uber.

The only time I had bad sb.exe errors was when that archer bug was going on, where everyone sb.exe'ed around wall archers. Other than that, I rarly got sb.exe's. On Deception I was in a +150 vs +150 seige(forgot what town, was against the reminants of DoO), lagging to death, for nearly 4 hours, and didnt even crash once, and that was a LONG time ago. Its pretty easy to lag to death with 1 trillion polygons on the screen, im surprised I never crashed (becasue in other seiges I had once or twice).
Lately, in the past 10 or more banes, I havent crashed even once, tho the most on one screen was 150 players or so (and the lag wasnt bad either).
Would be nice if some game company with lots of cash would buy the engine and upgrade it alot more, like what DAoC did with there engine awhile back. Anything is possable, as long as they dont carebear it up.

It would sure be nice, UBI bought out the rights for the heros of might and magic series after the company went under. Just hope another company picks up where WP left off. I guess Darkfall I think it was called is going to be similar. I just think there will only ever be 1 Shadowbane, it will be very difficult to emulate Shadowbane and keep the feel of the game.

Wouldn't it be great if nothing happened and everything was fine. Earlier today a friend said we should start playing again now thats its free, until I broke the news to him that we might not have long to play hah.

1. ONLY true seige game on the market. Incorrect. DAOC also has seiges. Very well done I might add. Easily on par with Shadowbane. Granted you can't completely destroy a keep but you can utterly demolish towers. Also is the little fact that Shadowbane has hardly any players when compared to DAOC's 200k+ EVE Online has TREMENDOUS space battles around stations and contested sectors of space. While not truely "siege warfare" it is equivalent... and a heck of a lot more impressive to participate in.
2. Has more charactor/class combinations than 3 of any other MMO out now put together. Incorrect again. DAOC has over 30 classes, And over 15 Races. When you combine them there are, literally, dozens of combinations available..
3. Has more indepth lore than any other game, and all the lore is based on player conflict, the heart and soul of a real rpg, something other games lack. Partially correct, partially incorrect. Numerous other MMORPG's have extremely deep lore. EVE, UO, SWG, DAOC, EQ2, etc. EVE is the only other one that truely follows PLAYER events, however. But you can't say "only" when there are other games out there. And you can't say the lore is more in depth than "any" other game when many have equally deep lore behind them, if not moreso.
4. Tho flawed somewhat and could use a bounty system or other tweaks, its the O N L Y open combat RPG on the market. Incorrect yet again. Lineage II, Lineage I and EVE are just 3 of the games currently on the market with open PVP combat.
5. True player controled world. YAY! A true statement!
Nothing out there compairs to Shadowbane. If it had more stability and better graphics with a bigger development team, and alot more tweaks (due to having a bigger dev team), it would make WoW look like a childs game (well, it allready looks like that, bad analogy).
Sorry, I dissagree. Shadowbane was an interesting game but it suffered due to many issues. Primarily that it was released in an EXTREMELY buggy state with a sub-par graphics system. Even for the day and age it was released in it's graphics were considered sub-par by most.
As far as the 'completely open PVP'? Many games have it. And UO had it at the time that Shadowbane released as well.
As to your final statement? That's a LOT of "IF" statements. None of which happened. You could say the same thing about ANY game. IF this... IF that....
Shadowbane is a good game. And it was a great PVP game for a while But it had (and has) issues that just made it 'not worth paying a monthly fee for.
At this point Ubisoft would be better off canning the game and making a new version rather than trying to re-vamp a 4 year old game that never really managed to succeed.

As for cost, does your mommy not give you enough allowance to pay for the $12 or whatever it was a month fee? If you worked 1 day in your life you could cover 5 months of gameplay.
As for character creation, you have to be kidding if you think any other game on the market is as indepth. Take into account you first choose your race with different starting stats, then you take into account which runes you want to take, then you take into account if you want to be a fighter/rogue/healer/mage which greatly changed the playing style of your build, then take into account disciple runes as well, then take into account how you can precisely sculpt your character when putting points into different skills.
As for it not succeeding, by what standards is this? To you it may have not succeeded, but for so many people it was the best game they've ever played. Im guessing Elnator is one of those people who played the trial for 2 days, got owned repetatively, then immediately went and started trolling on the forums. The game is not noob friendly hense why it has always gotten a lot of flack. Shadowbane isn't a game where you spend all day every day raiding to try and get better items. I just don't think a lot of people can handle a fully PvP enabled world. "Yay now that im done raiding i can go pvp in a little confined area where its bland and boring!!"
I think the issue is not with the game friend, I believe the problems are the people complaining have no idea how to build a character correctly or play the game. If you don't like the game, just don't play it. Why do people feel the need to troll just because they keep getting owned??
Thankyou, comeagain.
