PvP is stat and level-based? :/

I bought this game thinking it'd be like Planetside where if you were
to land a shot, it would register -- but actually, the combat system is
exactly comparable to City of Heroes where your LEVEL and STATS (not
SKILL and split-second reflexes) determine whether or not your shots
hit or miss. Also, all PvP is consensual and takes place in a boring
arena until you attain a level that is high enough to enter the middle
HUMANvsBIOMEKvsMUTANT PvP territory just to shoot a higher-level target
with higher "evasion" stats for five minutes and land all the shots
theoretically but have about 90% of them "miss" due to your "accuracy"
stats and level being too low. I thought it'd be like Planetside where
a BR1 could easily gank a BR20 in a matter of seconds on the first day
of playing the game, but really all you do on the first day of playing
Auto Assault is kill artificial intelligence with absolutely no death
penalties... Is that really worth $49.99? Buy this game if you like
PvE. Hardcore PvPers that like equity, don't waste your money on this;
buy Guild Wars instead, unless you don't care about equity and like
being a high-level automobile with built-in invulnerability to
lower-level automobiles. The combat in this game is like unloading a
full clip of 30 rounds point-blank to your opponent's chest in
Counter-Strike and having the server tell you "I'm sorry but your level
is too inferior to skewer your target with projectiles so I'll let only
two of your bullets register. Kill some more artificial intelligence in
order to level up and fix this problem and maybe I will register a few
more shots for you, or spend all of your time grinding so you can be
really high level and I'll register all of your shots." That's how
traditional MMORPGs are, I guess...

I love this game.... and I don't disagree with anything you said (except it not being worth the money).

Nobody ever said this was a hardcore pvp game.  That was just your assumption.  This game is *not* like Planetside and I don't think anyone here has claimed as much.  Actually, most of us have said it's far more similar to WoW or CoH than it is to Planetside.  And, once again, you're right - pvp is 100% consensual.

This game *is* a traditional MMORPG... you just happen to be a vechile instead of an elf.  The only way it differs from games like WoW is that combat actually does require some skill - though it's not based 100% on the player's skill, as in Counterstrike.  I'd say it's 20% player skill, 80% character skill.

Level and STATS? How else can it be? You level up your stats to become better and customize your character. You have perception that improves your avoidanceand find weak places in enemy's defense. You level Combat that improves your chance to hit. You level Tech to have your HP improved, you level Theory to have your Power improved. It's only rough description, all the stats have secondary and tetriary abilities attached to them.

When you improve your SKILLS, you improve duration of your pets for example and Damage they do. You improve overall damage that your skill can deal and so on. Sounds good to me.

Its not unreasonable to assume that this type of game could be possible as a MMOFPS such as Planetside or World War II online it just isn't in this case.

I wouldn't call AA - MMORPG. It's more like MMOCS - MMO Car Simulator. Or even if you wish - MMOMCS - MMO Mayhem Car Simulator.
