Despite what a majority of people might think, I predict that when someone releases a MMORPG (not 100 people, Im talking thousand+) that is based upon the controls in ANY modern GTA game, it will be the most successful game ever, and it will mark the beginning of what I would call something reminiscent of the "Matrix".  Incorporating all that is wrong with modern day society into an MMORPG will draw the biggest crowds, and possibly begin a trend of games within a game.  Imagine the entire world in 3D, with "shops" or "portals" that you could enter to play UO, EQ, emulators, chat rooms etc etc etc the virtual world could offer the gateways or virtual stores to these different types of electronic media.

I've spoken extensively on other websites about this concept, and anyone who has played the Rockstar games, and extensive playtime in MMORPGs would understand the amount of potential in this concept.  A lot of people are like " well, if you did that, it would just be respawn and get run over/gunned down/blown up instantly " or something to that effect.  Anyone that played UO would know the concept of rezkilling, and there are many ways to program around that problem... Planetside has coded one feature which lets you pick where you'll respawn in the world, so that it would reduce the amount of rezkilling.  Of course, there are many other concepts to incorporate on this project.

Ever since the emu for Vice City was first coded, I realzied the potential for the amount of fun there is in these types of games, and then realized that you could incorporate every other game on the market into this virtual world.  Reminds me a little like Fight Club... "the Microsoft galaxy, and planet Starbucks".... this brings that brainstorm to fruition.
