Looking for some general tips on equipping character

New to the game and I was wondering about finding armor and weapons. Haven't come across any comprehensive new player guides, maybe someone could point me in the right direction? Or just reply with some general tips on what I should be doing and where I should going to find the more desirable equipment.

2. Do the starting quests that your trainer gives you. This will get you good arrmor for around level 5 or so
3. There are some new Darkness Falls dungeons for those under level 10. I am unsure how you get to it though since I have not been there. It is supposed to be a place where you can RvR against other players in the dungeon as well so it might be open at all times. Or it might work like regular DF where you realm needs to own the most towers in order for it to be open. So if you can go here. You should get decent drops or at the very least "seals" which can be exchanged for equipment.
4. Once you get around level 10 or so (or you might want to try this sooner) go into the Catacombs zones. There will be instances in the zones. If you go into those the mobs will drop "aurulite." The aurulite can be exchanged for really good equipment in the cities in the Catacombs expansion.
5. If all else fails just go to the low level dungeons and hunt. You will get some equipment, it just is usually not something you want to use unless you have to.
As for what you should be doing, that is up to you. There is not much to do except to level and get better equipment at lower levels. Starting around level 20 the battlegrounds will be populated and you can go fight there. Other than leveling, I would suggest that you try to find a good guild.
As for leveling, Catacombs quests and zones are really the best. Most people will to task dungeons. In a full group that is the fastest, but it is very boring for me. You can also do kill tasks for good XP. Go to a named guard and type /s task. If the guard has a task he will tell you to go kill a certain monster. You get good XP for that. You starting zone and the SI first zone are good for those if you do not want to go into catacombs.
There are newbie armor quests given by a pair of other characters. They have you going into a dungeon called Demons' Breach (there's two: 1-4 and 5-9). Exactly the same for each realm, so you get some early pvp action. Done those. I just wanted to see if there was something I was missing. Must check out Catacombs stuff. Thanks for info.
