OK guys, here's the system I configured at sysbuilder.com. Let me know what you think! I probably won't pull the trigger on a purchase for a couple of months, after my vacation, so the price may drop even lower (or I'll get a better product for the same $$$).
Case: SysBuilder 313B4 400W w/ Front USB Mid Tower Case ($30)
Motherboard: ASUS A7V8X/L MB AMD VIA KT400/333FSB/DDR400/Audio/Lan/USB 2.0 ($81)
CPU: AMD XP-2800+ 333FSB ($157)
Memory: Crucial 1GB (512MB x 2) DDR400 Memory ($166)
Hard drive: WD 80 GB -- 7200 RPM ATA100 8MB ($83)
CD/CDRW: AOpen CRW5224 52X24X52 CDRW Drive ($37)
Video card: Radeon 9500 Pro 128 MB ($0 -- taking from my current computer)
Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft Wireless Optical Keyboard/Mouse ($52)
Modem: AOpen 56K Fax/modem ($12)
Speakers: Juster 450W Speakers w/ subwoofer ($15)
Monitor: Will use current monitor until I decide what to get
I wouldn't have gotten that CPU. I would of bought the AQXEA AMD 2500+ and then overclocked the crap out of it like I did...
My CPU didn't even cost me $92 And it's faster then a 3400+....
*EDIT
I wouldn't have gotten that RAM either... I would of gotten something a little better... I'm not sure if you're super picky like I am... But I would of saved money and bought a Lite-On 52x32x52 CD-RW from www.newegg.com...
My whole system ran me $800... but I also believe mine's better all though you have a faster CPU and more RAM... othen then that, it's a good system.
Easy to try and spend other people's money, isn't it Djin?
As to the original post.. as much as I love my R9700 Pro, even I must admit that it's overkill for just about everything I play. The 9500 Pro is just fine. Everything looks good, although I think you listed an ASUS board and I don't really care for them. (still using oddball jumpers and crap when everyone else has moved on)
EDIT: A bit better RAM than Crucial? Now I know Djin's on crack.. Crucial is awesome RAM. Bought from them multiple times, never had a complaint.
Comments
dude...
pull the trigger
lol
it's an awesome pc, the specs are nice, and the price is even better...
GREAT DEAL!
*EDIT
you got a great deal on the ram...my ddr 400 ram in any average florida computer shop is 100 bucks for a stick of 512...

I built this with MY money... and yeah... Crucial RAM is garbage. The timings are slower then Cosair, the chipset isn't made as well...
Yes... trust me... even Geil is better then Crucial... you can goto Best Buy and get that RAM, does that say anything?
What will he do next?
