Even after the tutorial, I found the content and interface of the game INCREDIBLY overwhelming.

Dont be surpirsed dude, it is very complicted the only way to know it all is to do it all =). Learn as you go is probably the best aproach I can recomend. Dont try to understand everyting at once, just learn about things you need for your immediate use.

Btw, dont get stuck on corrier missions, they are too boring and people seem to burn up on em fast.

If you paid attention to the tutorial, you are armed with the basics to get you started. Even with this though it is still a bit overwhelming. This is why you need to start out slowly, ask questions alot, and definently look into getting into a decent corp. The Corp Recruitment channel is very good for this as random recruiters usually spam it. So you will need to pay attention to the messages that catch your attention as a helpful group.

Its tough love.   There is alot to learn.    You don't have to learn it all at once.   Here is a link to the online player guide:

    http://www.eve-online.com/guide/en/

    This should help alot.

If you could tell us in more detail, what got you overwhelmed,...... "content" and "interface" is a bit too general, else I would say, click on each button and look what it does.

Yes, it is brutally overwhelming.  The great thing about it is once you spend a good 8 hours playing it most things will become transparent in function.

I did the tutorial twice.  The first time I played it for about 3 hours and was mentally exhausted and had to take a break.  It was worse then a course on thermal fluid dynamics!!

I am now spoiled by EVE's immensity.  Othre games are pale in comparison and I have much trouble enjoying the other mmo's currently on the market due to EVE's diversity and dynamics.
