"Killer", the head Rats (owner of WWIIOL & Playnet) verified that the C-130 Gunship pictured was made by them and it is pictured on a WWIIOL server. Of course it is a modified server and the buildings below the gunship resemble Iraqi buildings, as he put it.
He siad this could lead to a modern sim like WWIIOL that gamers will be able to play. Basically it will be like Operation Flashpoint meets WWIIOL, IMHO.
Personally, I like this alot! Especially the part about the possibility of playing a modern day version of WWIIOL. That means M-4 assault rifles, M-1 tanks, F-16s and F-22s, the USS Ronald Reagen and the Seawolf class submarine! w00t!
I figure Boomers will be left out because the boneheads would be ending the world within 5 minutes of every map reset. LOL
If they do add them there wll be some sort of thing required for a high percentage of your side needing to vote yes for a launch! I'm sure it will make it into the DoD version though.

Ah, so you are one of the few that didn't go to the training server or off-line practice to learn how to fly.
You chose to use the precious few in the supply system of the main server to learn to fly with. Airpower is the most important part of WWIIOL. Without a presence in the air, your guys on the ground suffer.
Most guys will say nothing if you crash one plane during take off. It happens. They will however say something to the guy who crashes several, one right after another. Some lose their temper because they think it might be a "Griefer". All games have them. WWIIOL has a few but they are few and far between.
If your skin is that thin, I suspect you have a hard time in most games because that kind of thing is almost non-existant in WWIIOL where the other games I play you get verbally assaulted nearly every game.
Like America's Army where the jerks who got killed early get angry at you for not dieing fast enough. They hate it when you play smart and keep yourself alive. once they die, they want you to get killed real fast so they can play agin too.
In Delta Force Black Hawk Down, I got verbally assaulted for trying to win a map. The stat-padders didn't want me to win the map because they wanted to keeppadding their stats. So the next map, they kept telling the other team where I was at.
Funny thing there is that I am better than most gamers and I kept killing many of them. They would rush me with several players, all of them knowing where I was and I didn't know where they were. I would kill all but the last one or two before they got me. Sometimes I killed them all as was the case at the end of the map when I won it again! LOL
If you found WWIIOL disorganized and hard to figure out what was going on, the problem is that you were not in a squad. If you had been on and playing Allied in my AO, I would have offered to train you and I would have suggested you join a squad as soon as possible, preferably ours.
Many people do this because CRS made a privates tag Green. SO it's easy to see who the new guys are. People will talk to you and ask you if you are new to the game or just new to that character. See I can be a General in the British Army but a private in the French Air Force.
If you found the game hard, It Is. The enemy is smart too, they don't typically run around like boneheads asking to be shot. Deal with it. It wouldn't be as much fun for those of us that do enjoy it if it wasn't hard. The average WWIIOL player is the type that would not use a cheat to beat a level in a game because they enjoy the challenge. Many gamers don't like their games to be hard so they don't like WWIIOL.
This is why WWIIOL will never be as popular as something like Everquest. Everquest is easy, WWIIOL is not. WIIOL is the closest thing to real combat you have out there so just like in real life, if you do something stupid, you die. Sometimes you aren't doing anything stupid but it's just your time, your luck ran out.
I have no problem if you don't like WWIIOL, you are entitled to your opinion. But understand this, there are many people out there that don't share your opinion. The numbers are growing all the time which is a good thing for the developers.
Plus anyone who knows anything about the game knows it is neither buggy or boring. You just have to know how to adapt to the game, again something that is diffeicult for the average gamer because they don't want a hard game.
Even the whiner writers at PCGamer kept whining that they had to hit the E key to turn on the engine of their tank. They wanted it to be like their favorite game Bf1942. Well sorry but if CRS did that they would alienate the majority of their player base that does not want the unrealistic gameplay of Bf1942.
Having to turn on the engine is realistic. It also adds realism in that you have to make a choice, do I turn off the engine and allow myself to hear the enemy better and adds stealth to my position or do I leave the engine on so I can escape danger faster?
Like I said, if you don't like thegame, that's cool, as you can see by the article, the game is going to nothing but get better and the developers aren't going anywhere. he game had many predictions of failure in the past but it didn't and infact is still the only virtual battlefield over 2 1/2 years after it's debut.
This news is good for those of us that want more out of a game because not onlydoes it secure the foreseeable future of the game but it also means that a modern warfare version of the game isn't far off.
That is exciting to many people. Most will have a wait and see attitude though. i don't think they will be disappointed.
One game to rule them all,
One game to find them.
One game to bring them all,
and in addiction bind them.

Good news. I've been playing WWII Online off and on ever since launch and I'm glad to see their product is getting recognition. Personally I rather them advance on WWII Online then go about working on a more modern War MMOG, but thats just me.
Bought the game when it first came out... cancelled account within 2months... decided for the hell of it that I would resubscribe last week... and I love it. And joining a squad makes the game 3 times better.
