This might soundlike a reaaly dumb question but I have to ask. What is Beta mean. I am new to mmorpg's and want to know what beta means. Thanx for answering.

Alright, to put it simply, beta means testing a game before the initial release.  In MMORPG's especially, beta testing is required because the Devs need to make sure the servers and gameplay options are all operating efficiently when there's tons of people online.  You can easily sign up and be in a beta test for absolutely no price, but in return you have to submit any bugs/errors you find while playing.  Hope this helps....post any more questions you might have.

Thanx. So you don't have to pay anything no monthly fees. ALso is it just open to US and CAN residents cause I live in New Zealand. Thanx again

That is entirely up to the company running the beta. Some companies take people from all over the world into their betas. Some companies restrict beta to their own country or region. When you go to the game website to sign up for the beta, there's usually some kind of rules or agreement to read that will give you those details.

It all depends on what the company decides.  It can never hurt to submit your beta application though, because then if they decide to accept worldwide people, then you have a chance of being selected.
