Already quit WoW, mostly because of what I've read about this game. Just the FAQ made me realize how simple WoW really is and how much more MMOs can offer. I'm not sure if Vanguard is going to pull off what it's trying too, but now I'm on a search for a game that offers what Vanguard is promising to offer.

I even registered a guildportal site in preperation, sorta....reserving the name and whatnot =P

Glad you think so, this will knock LOTR: Online out of the water.

I stopped playing WoW around the 1.08 patch as I realised that I would need to put in more and more time into the large instances to get the 'Epic' Gear.  I'm sorry, but going in and doing the MC over and over just gets boring and takes up way too much time.  Do not get me wrong, my friends and I had a lot of fun leveling to 60 and doing things as a group but I came to the decision that I had had enough.  I still have a 2 mth prepaid card and maybe after the 1.11 patch I will finish off with a bang.  Unless I and lucky enough to get into the beta with Vanguard.

As for Vanguard, I have been following its developments closely for probably the last 12 months (at least - my how time flies...) and even though they have dealings with SOE, I still think this game has the potential to give me what I want from a game.  I only did the Beta for SWG and that was disappointing... that game was not ready and look at it now.      I never played Everquest but I did play AC1 and it was fun, though the grinding drove me banana's as a casual player.  No matter what, unless something goes terribly wrong with Vanguard, I will be buying it on release (Aussie player - hopefully world wide release like WoW was).

That's my two cents for now.  Time to continue searching the forums...

That's the problem with alot of WoW subscribers, it's their first MMO and they have nothing to compare it with.

yep, it was my first ;) i liked it at first, but then it got repetitive, and all i was doing is trying to find groups for instances.... im going to get my two charcters to level 60, then sell them on ebay...... thats how im gonna get this game =p

I think I take offense to that =P

My first was CoH, actually...and you read a little too much into what I said. What I meant was, when I read the FAQ, I saw a bunch of things that made me say "Oh, I wish WoW did that!"  I knew WoW was a simple game game from the get go, but reading the Vanguard FAQ just made it blatantly obvious that I'm just wasting my time.

thats kool, i see what your sayin.... and even though WoW was my first ive played demos of many others and i feel the exact same as you =p Vanguard just obviously has more depth for its players, and unless WoW steps it up im sure its not gonna look to pretty for Blizzard....
