I've been looking at a few Linux distros and there are some really interesting ISOs to burn, Fedora,SUSE,Kubuntu and such, What really caught my eye is a new BSD distro called PCBSD installation was a dream and very quick much better than most I've tried and they have an interesting package based installation system.
Everytime I have a look at what the Linux/Unix community are doing it surprises me how much ground they are gaining, there are some really good distros around and the IRC communtiy (Freenode) are very helpful if your a nooblet like myself

Concerning Linux, I love Fedora Core. Concerning UNIX, I am a Solaris freak all the way. I don't like AIX, and HP-UX is decent. When I first started using Linux distros, Slackware was the way to go. I know people who use Gentoo, but I've never really gotten into it.

I was using Fedora Core until my mobo died and FC has ACPI/APIC issues with my new ASUS Av8-mx atm, thats what got me looking around
I forgot to mention PCBSD has Nvidia prop drivers avail, not sure what if any ATI are..
I did see Solaris on my travels and it looks interesting, but maybe beyond my abilities atm.
