Hello.
New here. I have a question. A while back I picked up Ultima Online and played it for about 2 years. I really liked that game a lot. I liked the way you could make things like chairs and tables, armor and other cool stuff. I like the way skills workd and the fact you could own a house and a ship. I am now looking to start playing MMORPGs again and would like to know which game is like UO but not UO. I liked it but I am ready for a change. I have tried Anarchy Online and feel like there is nothing to do but kill stuff. Thats not fun for me. I need more. I am thinking about trying Everquest. Oh and I also like the PVP stuff. I like to worry a little when out in the woods digging for gold...thinking that maybe a bad guy may come and kill me and take all my stuff. Adds to the fun.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Sounds like you like crafting alot, if so don't try EQ, the tradeskills are all but non existant there and if you thought it was bad killing over and over in AO, then you will really hate EQ.
If you are looking for a heavy crafting based game with any kind of PvP, Star Wars Galaxies might be what you are looking for (as much as I hate saying that heh) It has a decent crafting system and does cater to the PvPer, all though it's not a free for all like classic UO was, it's more of a join one side in the galactic war and fight only the other side. Also it is 100% skill based.
Alternatively you might want to check out Horizons, it has a pretty good crafting system as well although it is lacking in PvP. These are the only 2 I can think of that have anywhere near the crafting complexity that UO had/has. With either you are going to get a hunting the monsters over and over type of grind though.
Dont get me wrong. I dont mind the endless killing. Its just I want more than that. Crafting is fun. I was going to try Star Wars...I grew up playing with the first every action figures (giving away my age)...however the $49 price tag didnt make we want to give it a shot. I dont know...once it comes down to it I may just stick with UO until the next Ultima game comes out. Thanks for your input.
