Hey just to clear up, You mean a Crafter, Jedi and a BH? if so then ya, but if not You can have two charactor per server now, and that existing 3 charactors on the server, Pre-nge, then you can keep your 3rd guy on that server. But don't Blame SOE, they are not the designers of the GAME, LUCAS ARTS is the sole developer and designer, SOE adds the online support and runs and maintains the server while Lucas arts says what Happens in the game......Sont Online entertainment is just that, they provide the online for these games and all the Ingame issues. LUCAS ARTS designs what SWG is......
When i played was before the cu you could have a jedi and 1 other char so if you wanted a 3rd char you had to open another account i left right after the cu. And started playing wow been playing there but im looking for something new have been for a long time if they made swg back to what it was pre-cu i would go back. but what you say is that LUCAS ARTS is the one that told sony to make the game changes so that it is made for the 12 year old player, this telling them we want to you kill swg so no one will play it i hear they only have like 2 servs going in swg anymore lol well if so i guess LUCAS ARTS hates starwars.

I just can't get over the fact that there are still rabid fanboys and fangirls over at the SWG forums who are still of the opinion that: "The folks at SOE and LA are doing their best and just be patient for a little while longer and stop complaining".
It's ludicrous. I mean these same people have been saying that for three solid years. When do these folks ever get a clue? I mean, if LA/SOE pulled the plug tomorrow these folks would still be putting a positive spin on it. It's like SWG has a bunch of fans who live in Stepford.

Well the vocal minority already quit... You know, all 49% of the total playerbase. The people that are left are the ones who were too busy playing and having fun. When a member of the vocal minoirity decides to come back and test the water like you did they have to make sure to belittle your opinion and band together to tell you how little your opinion means to them. That's been the status quo since day one.
Those of us who were regular posters on the beta boards and whose input shaped a lot of the game they loved were labled as "trolls" when we stood up against the bullshit changes and lack of positive improvements.
I don't really understand it though. I mean if the game got so bad that it was actually painful to play, would these folks still defend it? I mean are they completely free of any critical thinking ability?

It isn't that so much as that they lack the ability to reason than they are a clique. It's an us against them mentality.
When the game developers make a choice that affects how they play negatively they only complain when others from their clique complain first. It has to be socially acceptable to complain. Mob mentality.
For example: A friend of mine complained on the entertainer forums about the fact that her favorite character a dancer/TK no longer had the ability to participate in combat. She really enjoyed this aspect of SWG, a chance to play a combat/noncombat character. She started writing essays and collecting as many stories and like minded opinions as she could to make a proposal to the developers to get back some of that important game play. After a month of constantly hounding developers and community relations people she managed to get the idea to the right people and the devs announced that in a future publish the ability for an entertainer to have a basic combat effectiveness would be reintroduced.
Well an amazing thing happened... The ruling clique in the entertainer forum (and by ruling clique I am referring to the Galactic senators and their circle of friends about 10-15 people in total) started insulting her calling her "troll" and saying that she was destroying the entertainer profession. They all went to their home servers and had their nonentertainer friends and alt accounts go to any thread on the topic and flame not just her idea but her personally. The idea, which did nothing but add the ability for an entertainer to level up, was soon dropped from the publish plan because the "entertainers" didn't want it.The reality was that the entertainers who played in that style preNGE all wanted it, but the few people who were GS and their friends have always wanted entertainer to be what it is right now... A completely isolated unrelated to the game side profession for an ALT character that hangs out with a small circle of dedicated friends making movies of themselves while "role playing" being slaves or prositutes.
Well, for one thing, I'm not in any nefarious clique, and I'm more likely to disagree with the current entertainer clique than anyone else, but I'm also one of the folks who thinks that adding combat to entertainers will do a lot of harm to the entertainer profession, and I've played entertainer since launch (so it's not like I don't know what it's like to play an entertainer with combat abilities - I used to be a Master Dancer/Pistoleer). The reason it will harm entertainers is that entertainers will never get non-combat content if entertainers become a combat class. The developers have told us so on many occasions. The developer's refrain "If you want content, go kill something" became infamous on the entertainer forums before the NGE. The only hope for entertainers to get entertainer content is to remain a non-combat profession.
As for why combat never made it live in the recent publish, that was purely because it didn't work very well. Trust me, the developers desperately want entertainers to be a combat class again. They want it because it will make their job so much easier if they can tell us that same old refrain - so that they don't have to bother making content that's specifically attuned to a non-combat class.
The reality was that the entertainers who played in that style preNGE all wanted it, but the few people who were GS and their friends have always wanted entertainer to be what it is right now... A completely isolated unrelated to the game side profession for an ALT character that hangs out with a small circle of dedicated friends making movies of themselves while "role playing" being slaves or prositutes.
As I said, I played in that style pre-NGE, but when entertainers became isolated I welcomed the break. Until that time we were constantly barraged with abuse because many combat players didn't want to be 'forced' to go to a cantina to heal. Many felt entertainers were 'sissy' and wanted to keep their manly characters uncorrupted by dancing and music. The removal of entertainer healing abilities was purely driven by combat-oriented players.
I'm 100% entertainer. My character isn't an ALT. I've played entertainer exclusively for two and a half years and haven't touched a weapon in the game in all that time, because after mastering Pistoleer I found combat incredibly boring. I've never hung out with anyone making movies or roleplaying a prostitute or a slave. In fact I resent the suggestion, as it seems to me that it's part of the general prejudice that non-entertainers have about the profession.

That wasn't a dig on you Beery. I know how you play, I've lurked and posted to the entertainer forums as long as you have. I played an entertainer from beta until I stopped playing last year.. Most of the time, like you, as a completely noncombat character. My friend who tried her best to save her play style quit the game in disgust after trying her best to play a totally noncombat character or a completely combat character... Neither game appealed to her in the end.
As to the prostitute and slave line... I played on Bria back when the majority of the cantina crawls were happening. I met quite a few of the regular posters to the dancer and musician forums. The comment about how they played was made from first hand experience not just wild speculation or prejudice. The few people I met from the forums who were not just out to play slave and prostitute could be counted on one hand.
Just to clarify, I was just making a point. That point is that unless the group agrees, whoever is complaining is labelled a troll and attacked by the mob. I just took a gander at the entertainer forums... Looks like you know exactly what I mean.
A different opinion is what they consider a troll. Someone questioning a feature or design change without the support from the status quo is instantly labelled and ignored.
I can see what you are saying. I was just looking at the ent board now, and just seeing some of the threads there just made me wonder what these people get out of it and why they go on.
They seem like a pretty hateful group. Like "My Mini Rant for the Day," and it seems everybody with a post count over 100 seems to have a new mini rant against everything it seems.
The only ones Pre-CU I knew of who did nothing but entertain all day were bots. I guess if bots could talk, they'd talk like the ents do now. I always had some entertaining skills Pre-CU, but I don't know how anyone could do nothing but entertain and have it be fun. It seems like such a waste of everything else the game could offer.

What is worse, SOE/LA destruction of SWG or day after beer drinking fest with accompany flatulance in an elevator full of people, including the CEO of your company?
So today I got two angry PMs from GarVa threatening to suspend me if I posted a request again - and I had only posted twice because a moderator told me to post the request on another forum. Hehe, I think GarVa is about to lose it. I sent him an angry response back, so doubtless today will be my last day on the SWG forums.

I tried combat in SWG. I was a pistoleer. I found it unbearably tedious. Personally I can't understand how anyone could shoot guns in the game 24/7 when it's so incredibly boring. I switched to entertainer and found that entertainers in SWG have the largest amount of creative gameplay potential of any MMORPG I've played (literally hundreds of thousands of combinations of music and dance moves that can be crafted into a show), and the social atmosphere in the cantinas is better than any game I've played. Sure, they have no quest content and they can't do combat, but like I say, combat left me completely cold - and I usually go in for all that 'play army' stuff - after all I'm a WW1 reenactor in real life.
I currently have six characters in the game - all entertainers. I'll never go back to combat, and now I look for non-combat (preferably entertainer) roles in any new MMORPG that comes along.

You'd be ranting too if your chosen profession had been ignored for as long as the entertainers have been.
