I'm really enjoying this game

So I really have been enjoying the 7 day free trial despite all the criticisms. Coming from a top eq and wow guild I was really afraid that this game wouldn't be the right fit as I would miss raiding too much. I can see how this game will get boring once I max lvl but for the moment it has been a blast. Its a good game if you play it casually (aka don't rush to max lvl ) or to go along with another mmo.

It's a great game for the first two weeks or so.  Then it gets old.  You can only run Waterwords or STK so many times before the novelty wears off.

If the game had released with the initial 20 levels that were discussed in beta and about 10 times the number of instances the game wouldn't get the bad press it deserves.

Or had Turbine given the player anything else to do besides grind instances.  The entire game is nothing more than the LDON expansion without other things to do like explore, craft, etc.

If all EQ had been was LDON, I wouldn't have played it for five years.  I played DDO in closed beta, open beta, stress, and Headstart ... that was more than enough for me.

As always, YMMV.  But I'd be interested in hearing if you're still playing DDO at the end of June.

I have to agree also. I loved DDO for about 2 months (during Alpha/Beta testing), then the fun wore off. I think its a great game, but it needs a lot more content. I wish they had spent another year just doing content and putting more of the PHB into the game (and anything from the ECS). I wouldn't have minded to keep it to 10 levels (a level 20 in Eberron is unheard of, even the Kings/Queens are lv 5-10, IIRC), but had a much slower progression (with much, much more quests).

Yeah, I think you'll find that the popular opinion is that you may be suckered into thinking the game is as fun as the first 7-14 days, but you'll be sorry if you actually subscribe.  Well, I suppose the problem isn't paying for a month of subscription as much as it is the initial purchase for a game you're going to put down within the first month or 2 of starting it.  It does have its allure, but it quickly loses its luster when you can run through the content within 6-8 weeks going at a casual pace.  Then there's the issue of everyone only wanting to do the same quests over and over again.  The game is group-based, and most of the people available are only wanting to do WW and STK ad nausium.

Hopefully they can pull off something with LoTRO, but we'll see.  After AC2 and DDO, my faith is quickly slipping and if they ruin the lands of Middle EArth, I swear I'll puke in an envelope and fed-ex it to them.

You should use a ZipLock bag inside of the envelope. It should hold it together without leaking through and ruining the envelope :)
