Sanctus Legacy Online MMORPG - 3d Artists Needed

Nautilus Productions, a high-school based game-development team in Indiana, is wrapping up the networking engine portion of an MMORPG project, "Sanctus Legacy Online". We have decided to use the 3dState graphics engine, and now we are beginning to integrate the two engines together. Our team is looking for a 3d artist or 3d graphics team to work with our concept and character design artists on two low-poly, animated human models: one male and one female. We intend to use a base model for each gender, then load different alpha blended tectures over the model for each class. Thus, each model will consist of a body, basic clothing/armor which will be textured according to class, and a polygon attached to each hand which will be textured as weapons/shields. We would like to keep the polygon count of each model below 350, but anywhere below 500 should suffice.
   Each model should contain the following animations:
          ---Standing
          ---Walking
          ---Running
          ---Bending over / Picking up item
          ---Standing->Sitting
          ---Sitting
          ---Sitting->Standing
          ---Fight stance
          ---Swing axe/sword/club (2 or 3 alternates would be nice, but only one is necessary)
          ---Punch/stab (one for each hand would be nice, but only one is necessary)
          ---Hold staff in air / Summon magic
          ---Fire gun
          ---Fire bow
          ---Pain/Hit
          ---Hit->Dead
          ---Dead
   Also, the following animations would be very appreciated for GM purposes, but would not be required:
          ---Standing->Flying
          ---Flying
          ---Flying->Standing
          ---Teleporting

   All textures will be taken care of by our other artists. We simply need the aforementioned models made compatible (UV Mapped) to a template that we are still designing. All final models should be in MD2 format.
   Obviously, this is not a long-term project by any stretch of the imagination, but if you are interested in being more involved with the project, we will soon be in need of 3d modellers who can create low-polygon monster models. We are still hammering out the details of how monsters will work, but we will probably need the following animations for each monster:
          ---Standing
          ---Walking
          ---Running
          ---Fight stance
          ---Attacking
          ---Pain / hit
          ---Fight->Death
          ---Dead

   As before, textures for each monter will be taken care of by our artists.

   Concerning the details of our project and the pay you can expect, I must first say that this will be our first commercial project. Thus, with this preface, we can guarantee no dollar figure for any assistance. We do expect to charge a monthly fee once beta testing is over, but we have no idea what kind of profit to expect. Thus, until the game reaches the market, all work must be viewed as unpaid. We would be most honored to reward those who do assist with the game both monetarily and with respects in the game, including authoritative privileges and credits on the loading and unloading screens. Also, those interested with maintaining association with our team will be able help us CrossBlade, an RPG closely tied with the storyline of Sanctus Legacy.
   Our web-designer is still working on a website, so no screen shots or other development files are available, but once we have an operating website, we will be sure to inform you. Artists will be able to load models directly into test worlds during beta testing, and all artists will be given a deno program in which they will be able to see their model in action. We want to be as involved with our artists as possible.

   If you would like to be part of this project, or if you would like to know more about Sanctus Legacy Online, please contact Justin Smith at: JustinSmith@CCHSINDY.org. We hope to hear from you soon!

    I can appreciate the idea that going to market with your product is filled with a great deal of uncertainties, but if you do expect to collect revenue from the public you need to put down a business plan that has a very clear line of what services you will be providing. You've got to start thinking about this NOW, as it is going to take you many months to find the funding necessary to bring your product to market. You are not going to be able to support a commercial product via an inexpensive network, and bandwidth costs are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE.

    I wish you good luck on your project...if nothing else, doing this in high school is going to teach you a TON of extremely beneficial lessons that will make any of you valuable talent in the market in the future.
