I was reading thru the old threads here and just came across this one.

An Elderscrolls III: Morrowind mmorpg would be uber cool.image

Bethesda sure did a great job with Morrowind as an rpg didn't they. Daggerfall I liked, but it just had too many bugs.image Fortunately for us, Bethesda learned their lesson and put out a very good and stable rpg in Morrowind. Just took them forever so an mmorpg by them if announced today would probably not be out for 5 years, lol!!!image

The upcoming rpg Fable would make a great mmorpg or just plain morpg, but alas!! It will not be.image

Unfortunately we don't have the technology to make GTA3 a reality I don't think. I may be wrong on that though.

I'm going to say give it to morrowind i mean what an amazing amazing amazing game. If they could make that an mmo, tweak some aspects of the game, throw in some super super monsters that require raid like parties and you've got an amazing game.

Don't get me wrong GTA 3 would be sick and just an awesome game but i think if they were to do that then they would have to throw in an end game type of scenario so you have something to strive for otherwise it would lack what i really love.

A chrono trigger mmo would have me pass out, wake up days later only still be in dis belief i think that is without a doubt the greatest strategy/rpg game ever made. But i don't know how they would make it, i guess it would be something along the lines of how they made FFXI but chrono trigger style.

By far one of the few games that I have played extinsively over the past 6 years...and I still play it today. Graphically it lacks (but hey that was 1995) but the gameplay was simply amazing. The great thing is, it has all the elements that make a great MMORPG.
Morrowind: the main follow-up to Daggerfall (which came out May 3rd) has even topped the benchmark Dagerfall set in '95', with every great feature that Daggerfall had, multiplied by 10, and added the most stunning graphics I've seen in any game.
Personally I think that is Bethesda took their ever-popular Eldar Scrolls to the MMORPG market they may just have what it takes to blow the compitition out of the water.
There you have it, my choice for whick company should jump into MMORPGS, as well as my choice for which games I'd love to have been multiplayer. And naturally of course they would have to tweek a few things for those games to succeed...such as some sortta class balance :)
Check the poll, it'd be nice to see what games or sierries they'd like to be a MMORPG.

MORROWIND! my friend should of gone into a mmorpg as it is enough for one as they have in mmorpgs morrowind had a hole world to explore it was the best thing that ever happend to me when i got it from xbox i also got it for the pc (mods pretty much) and it was just god GREAT! there was balances and everything the game was like WOW when i first saw it, shook me out of my mind...... not on work days i would go all night playing it and into the day yea i went pretty hardcore on the game and that was last year im getting tribunal and bloodmoon and possable morrowind XBOX goty god...really should of belonged like a mmorpg but they have there reasons....

Gta3 gets boring too but it depends on how you play with a combo of advancement/alternate options/random killing/finding the gooseggs/ getting 5 stars. So you can make any game fun or boring on how you play it, and gta3 is better in morrowind in my mind, and morrowind would be a clone of fantasy mmorpgs with a few innovations up its sleeve while gta3 would break out from the norm and produce a mafioso masterpiece (maxim mag) to keep in the record book for ages.

Like i said 25 percent of morrowind is the mods, so unless your incredibly slow the game can get old and needs new quests/items/towns in order to keep your interest.

man what do you even know about clones? i have played clones you, obvouisly cant tell a clone from a orignal this game morrowind WOULD BE NO WERE NEAR  a bloody clone there has alot to do with shiz i had the game for  over a year and trust me NOT *25%* is mods thats about 5% you mistake morrowind what you did is went to fast through the main quest witch in the end is why you got bored of it man i went through that game every night playing it until work man i could hardly stay up at work it was soo addicting the game is truely amazing they done soo much with it its like WOW what have they done? they took a rpg and pretty much made it a MMORPG no other rpg has done that no other game has done that except the mmorpg's its truely amazing

Out of Morrowind and GTA 3? I choose GTA 3 for an mmorpg. Morrowind is just gonna be another EverSh*tie... And how could you guys say GTA gets boring fast? When you can take on the Police, Military, FBI, Government,  now that rocks!( plus when you can compete with your friends)  not some copy/old/clich game... this is sooo gay I don't even know if I still want to read these posts anymore... You guys suck.... EverSh*tie and the rest are so gay as hell.... Medieval is cool but their going to FAR! Middle Earth and FF online are the only awesome medieval mmorpgs.... Sorry but some one gots to say it...

  • acrobuddyacrobuddy Member UncommonPosts: 66

I choose.... TES3: Morrowind, with a bit more realism in the combat and some other areas... its already a great game, one that rivals the gameplay of most MMORPGS, just that its um... single player... but you have to look... Morrowind has so much depth, the landscape is freaking cool... i mean, wondering around looking for caves or mobs is always fun

but i dont want GTA3, i want Vice City if you go that way... VC was a hell of a lot better than GTA3, and they already made an underground patch/program to play VC online... i think last i had known, just need to make the world of VC a lot bigger, and *BAM* instant awesome MMOFPS...

BTW: most fantasy MMORPGS arent medieval, look at FFXI, that isnt medieval, most of these games arent, theyre fantasy....

Puleeze no...dont ruin the chrono name, by making it a FF clone...skraight up SE doesnt know how to make a fun MMO, FFXI is a blasphemy to FF universe

I chose MW. However that would never happen. But as for GTA. Ok, yeah right, a MMO qhere you do what you do in GTA. hmm, sounds like it would get boring unless you add so much more city and even an under world to it. Other than that all it would be is a Hey give me your car, paint. stelal car, truck, bike, ambulance, taxi or whatever they all just look different. Still doing the same thing, driving, shooting and changing your clothes. I don't think it would work. However all it sounds like to me is an advanced version of Motor City Online. Don't think that did so well either.

Instead of having a vote on a previous released game which all know will never happen why not have a vote the theme they are based on....Like this

What type of MMO would you prefer.

Game like GTA (Gubs, cars hijack, be a taxi driver etc..)

Instead of Baldur's Gate...how about D&D Online...Well it is being done now....Turbine Entertainment

Instead of JUST one province Morrowind. TESO (The Elder Scrolls Online) Based off of all Tamriel Now they have more history there than any other MMO out to date...

About the one guy talking about MW, just like the other guy said sounds like he rushed to the end. One obvious note was him stating after he finished the main quest he explored and got bored. Hmm sounds like he is a hack-n-slasher and doesn't like to read much about all the side stuff he can do and explore to find things outside of the main. Also if you notice he even claims to have the element of surprise with his own mods. Man something is wrong with that darkbackward.

Would probably say GTA: Online, cuz it would be the most original of the games, the others would just look so much like other MMO's

There is a multiplayer GTA: Vice City mod available online. It isn't an MMOG but it's multiplayer.. and it's worth its kicks (as buggy as it is/was).

Personally, I'd love to see a Daggerfall(Remember how BIG the game world is?!) MMOG with top-notch graphics.

GTA: Online would be a horrible idea. It would just be mass killing. Yeah, parking a car in your friend's garage with a bomb in it. When they get in the car it explodes... Everyone would be doing that to everyone. The game just could not be done. Either it would be mass chaos or it wouldn't fit the GTA style of going and doing whatever you want to whoever you want.  Yeah, it might be fun to have players start a crime family and have gang wars and stuff, but you would find people that would just go around killing everyone and blowing up people's cars and stuff. It just wouldn't work well

Zelda would be nice but the story can't work. I mean everyone wants to be link, they'd have to change it around alot....

As for GTA3 i can't see why it wasn't an mmorpg in the first place. I'd have a blast playing a GTA online image

I agree. Zelda would be hard to do. 10,000 Link clones running around would be creepy. imageMMORPG based on the Zelda world could work though.

GTA3, but make it Vice City. I still have it on my pc and play it when I get the urge. Good times.image

A Vice City mmorpg where you could have crime families as guilds or be a cop or FBI agent. Crime families would wage war and fight for the right to control certain parts of the city or a whole city. In a Vice City mmorpg you could simulate Earth with the countries and major cities. You could be a mercenary and take jobs for either the police or the different crime families. God....I'd never get any sleep.image

Fallout would be great ! Bottle Caps, trusty modified Plasma Rifle and Sulik loaded up on psycho. Fallout (based on I, II and Wasteland) would certainly be a different world than traditional fantasy. With Black Isle under and the last Fallout title being the horrible console game it doesn't look good.

GTA III would be the ultimate social darwinian battle zone. I wonder if you could trust anyone you meet enough to group, except in the context of some crime family ? I'm suprised there isn't a Dungeons and Dragons licensed MMORPG by now.
