Um, for as long as I can remember, the SWG forums have ALWAYS been like that...since the beginning.  Yet, the game still exists today...3 years later ;)

I have to disagree with ya there. The forums didn't start looking like that until CU, and even then it wasn't that bad.

In one way or another, the forums have been mostly about flaming, especial the general forum.  Others such as the profession and guide forums are generally pretty civilised though.

Hehe, not a thing has changed since the game launched.

Yeah, server wars are all great and whatnot, but the kind of pvp this guy is talking about is open world 24/7 no-opt-out pvp.

I seriously think that all second, third, and fourth gen'ers need to step back to a FFA enabled game (the only one I can think of ATM is AC1, but I think there are some old school UO shards out there) to learn what pvp is all about.

ALL games huh? Never mind that UO is the only game to have ever had broad appeal that has used FFA PvP and that is probably only because of the lack of choice at the time. I don't mind the idea of some games doing it but judging by how those games have done since players started having the choice of other games to play instead of them (shadowbourne, AC1) then they wion't be any bigger then small niche games. I think you need to accept what you like in an MMO is a minority intrest and stop trying to push it onto everyone else.
