I'll be going Qeynos as well, so if you join the good there, count me in. I've had this dang game purchased since last summer, geesh hehe. (prepaid for 2)
Nah, Freeport became evil somehow. It's kind of strange since Qeynos had an established temple for Bertoxxulous and Freeport only had a few Necromancers hiding out in an abandoned building.
I'm just curious to see how much land is now in-between the two major cities of Qeynos and Freeport. I know there will probably be small towns and such, but they have made it quite clear that the only real "cities" are those two.

I have also begun the pre-game release guild creation steps. However, I just want to make sure I have a couple things correct.
The first is that in Everquest II there are two main city presences, Qeynos and Freeport. One will be the "evil" and one will be the "good" side. In addition, there are several faction groups within the cities. So the major question I have is: guild competition in EQII will revolve around your guild (sworn to a particular faction within the city your allegience lies in,) competing with the other factions of the city to try to gain higher standing than the rest of them? This is what i gathered from the EQII website, and the more progress your guild makes, the more tangible rewards you receive. In addition, I gathered that if an evil person wants to join a guild based in a good city, they are free to do so, although they will NEVER gain any tangible rewards for improving the faction of the guild seeing as it contradicts the character's given home allegience. I may be COMPLETELY wrong here, but that what I am trying to clear up. SOE is being so ambiguous that it is hard to determine exactly what is going on with guilds, so all the help is much appreciated.
Another thing that confused me is this: if each guild swears an allegience to a faction within the city, there are bound to be multiple guilds per faction. If this is so, are all of the guilds of any given faction working for a "group" goal seeing as they are attempting to raise the same faction standing? Also, It seems to me that if the competition lies within the good and evil cities between the factions, there wont be much competition on the guild level between good and evil guilds. Is this true?
It is just hard, after spending so much time in the current EQ guild system, to attempt to comprehend the new system that will be integrated in EQII. Lol, essentially change will be hard to get used to.
Im sure that no one is completely sure of any of the facts discussed above, but I am curious what your opinion is from the small amount of information that we have been given. All and all, no matter how the guilds work, I am extremely excited for the EQII release and have been waiting forever. EQ1 is so good it seems impossible things could get any better, but they will. Thanks all!

*edit* I just did some more research and found that instead of a guild trying to raise their faction's standing within the city, they just simply compete with other guilds in the city to try to raise their guild's standing within the city. However, I still have not found a reason that guilds swear themselves to a particular faction, or what impact the factions play on the guilds. I guess we're all in the same boat though, learning information as it comes out. */edit*

The 5th Column" aka "]V[" for the roaman numeral 5.
I'm still in, Murt.

Bah. I just saw that you don't like the name.
I will not join a guild with a fanboy name, though. Any reference to EQ or EQII in the guild name will turn me off to the guild!
