Sure, why not? But if you want to keep separate Catacombs client, just copy all Catacombs folder to other place on your disk (or other disk).

I would go ahead and do it.  It just happens to be with every expansion
they have a new client.  The only reason to keep a seperate Catacombs
client is if you want to play the Catacombs client sometimes and other
times DR.  Keep in mind that if you load up Catacombs you will not have
access to the DR content.  I say just go ahead and do it and if for
some reason you want Catacombs back, then reinstall it.

DAoC is unique in it's Expansion design unlike everquest or SWG, you do not need to have the older expansions installed to run the newest version, but you will need to have them activated on your account to access them.

Also the only reason why you would ned to keep catacombs installed on your system is if your machine is having difficulty running the new town and sturcture graphics.

What everyone else said above, you only NEED the latest expansion/version of the game/client. Some people keep older versions installed as well so they can run less graphically intense versions of the game for large raids in RvR and such to help with lag, etc. Other than that, which is completely optional based on what kinda system you have, there is no real reason to keep the previous versions installed.

Unless you have an older rig there's no reason whatsoever to keep the older clients.
