Help! Now what?

I love EVE. I love the feel and atmospher (spelling?) it has.

But I have found myself logging less and less in. Mainly because the skills take so long to train.
I just dont see the point in playing since my character lvls when I am not playing.

So what can I do to logg in more?

Please list up things to do. I am sure there are more things to do besides, Missions, Mining and trading?

I am in a corp, but with RL friends and we are really small (4 ppl). Would I have more fun If I leave and join a large one? (Maybe someone has a good corp I can join?).

Well, mission runing or hunting NCP enemies in asteroid belts is good to make money.  Focus of earning enough cash for a new ship or something.

If you already have a little cash, kit out a frigate with some expendable eqip, warp scamber, webber etc and go kill some players :)  Always entertaining and you'll learn a lot about combat.  With 4 friends playing, you could cause havoc with some little frigates :)

Joining a larger corp could be a good idea, would maybe give you some direction and you'd be able to take part in some fleet battles and stuff.

Just don't, whatever you do, do any mining... if you think yer bored now...

That is the thing about EVE, it doesnt hold your hand you as you venture through it. If the only thing you do is train up your character you will find that at some point in time you are so financially behind your skills that you cant pilot anything your skills let you. Also keep in mind that there is very little point training skill from 4 to 5 unless you want a skill that requires it to be 5.

You need to get out there and start interacting with community, game will not force you to do that what sometimes can cause confusion and feeling of being lost in the ocean. Find a guild, if your corp is not active, or most people are in different timeline find another corp. Get out there, hunt some hard pirates, mining ops with your corp mates in low sec space.

Set objective for yourself and work towards is. Earn enough cash for Battleship, so when you get the skill you can fly it.

You can also get your self some inexpensive ships like frigs or cruser and go out there and do some pirating.

Ultimately the choice is yours, that is what a lot of people hate EVE for and others love it. You have complite freedom, in the world of EVE nothing is force upon you.

    Do it for the money

Adv skill books start at 45 million ISK. Forget ships, guns. You are going to be training stuff you wouldn't have just because you can't afford to advance and that assumes you play alot.

This can happen to us all at times, thats why its vary important to plan your skills or you will get stuck in this rutt for a vary long time.

PvP is a great option,if you dont do it at all or have never done it then it feels like a big step.the plan is to buy 10 frigs choose one with 3 meduim slots,.then kit them all up.try to have them on the edge of the safezone of what ever empire your in,.

If your flying solo stay in 0.1 - 0.4 look for solo or teams of 2,.play tag try to split them up or just plain out kill one of them.choose your fights, its kinda like paper rock sissors so read up on all the frigs an cruisers so you dont fight a bad fight you cant win,I can go on an on what to watch out for ,but ill leave that learning for you to find out.

first use t1 frigs and pick fights with cepters,be smart dont think 100% dmg or 100% healing,.think (im going to shut this basterd down) then slowly kill him.(noss, tracking distrupters, sensor dampers, webs)

loose all ten frigs and you will have learnd a ton by then, thats if you put alot of thot into your fittings.

Next step and probly the best ships in the game is T1 cruisers,.treat them like a frig and kit them that way,use frig weapons on it and go for endurance, your cap is your best freind so make sure you can run all your mods and never run out, then have noss to offset there noss if the enemy has it.use Battleship 1600mm plates.

My fav is the maller, packs a crazy punch with 4 frig guns and 2 meduim noss.the thorax is awsome to.the sweet thing is by never using meduim guns on cruisers you can use what ever frig guns you want and the enemy will be at a bit of a surprise, projectile are porbly the best, can pick your dmg type and they dont use energy.

The other is to have a custom lvl4 BS mission runner,.Use a BS and nothing else, they insure better, and ya there just better at kicking ass for the price you pay,.Armageddon 5 tachs 2 small beems drones, tank.Dominix drone ownage and tank, stupid easy with a domi drones allmost never die and you can retreat them back and remote rep them.or just load and unload to remove the AI agro.and yes pick your missions do basic ones, mordus and mercs are gay take for ever and dont pay well.

The other fun thing is killing solo snipers in your T1 cruiser, never try in a frig tho,.but just keep closing the gap bookmarking and jump, repeat.if there a lame dumb newb sniper you will be braging to your freinds that you killed a BS in your t1 cruiser,.drones are nothingkeep the sniper jamed kill the drones,if your plated up with 1600mm and sporting frig guns you can kill him,.most snipers dont have noss,or a strong tank, may take 10-15mins but you will kill him.If they do have noss get back out to 20k and jump out,.Battle ship noss is 100% cruiser defence, dont let him cap tap ya.

well didnt meen to type that much,. but that should keep you busy.

All the other posts above are very good.

I just wanted to point towards a character named Rells, he offered the last time I knew cheap pvp training for new players.

This is probably the worst cruiser combat advice that I have ever heard. Fitting frigate guns on a cruiser means that A: You WILL die to any competent cruiser pilot in the game, B: You WILL die to any pair of competent interceptors, and C: You will PROBABLY die to a competent AF pilot.

If you're interested in PvP, join a small-to-medium PvP corp and get some experience in gangs. Flying around and picking fights using a rifter or a punisher is also great, because theyre so cheap as to be free and they can seriously hurt anything thats ill-prepared.

well, you can pretend that it is a game, and try to play and have fun. i mean, i am sure you have played many games before where the character doesnt advance at all. you just play them and have fun, and dont worry about your stats or levels.

you can do the same on EVE. if next skill takes a long time, just play and have time, dont worry about skills, they will keep going up, wheter you play or not, so just try to have fun. if all your fun is getting to a new skill level, then you are probably *ucked up. you have to be able to enjoy the game even when you dont advance a new skill, or else you will find it boring and eventually quit.

If your interested in combat. Forget about your character skills, they will come in time. Start training your personal ones.

Join a good corp thats involved in Eve politics and PvP.

Why not try to get involved in combat gangs as a tackler in cheap frigates with your corp?  Train warp disruption skill up a bit and frigate skill/nav skill for speed and there you are ... a cheap tackler frigate for a combat gang.  You'll lose some ships, but they are cheap, and while you are building up SPs, you will be learning player skills relating to PvP and EVE's combat.

Excellent piece of advice it does not take all that much in the way of skill investment to be a tackler and it is a very intergal part of any fleet operation.
