I was just discussing with an online buddy how awesome it would be to raise your own chocobos rather then just using the ones in game. This adds a whole new element...I'm excited.

There's already been a form of that for a while where you're asked to take a chocobo from one stable to another, and you race against the clock; make a good a time and you get something neat like a page from the Dragon Chronicles or a stables scarf.

There's already been a form of that for a while where you're asked to take a chocobo from one stable to another, and you race against the clock; make a good a time and you get something neat like a page from the Dragon Chronicles or a stables scarf.

Is that the one where you're randomly asked by a stable master to return a lost choco to its rightful owner? I keep getting that one and I don't know what that's all about...

Yep, that's the one. If you accept, you get the choco for free (and can just use it however you like if you want). If you take it to the requested stable (by getting close to the chocobo exit for that stable), you get a cutscene where they thank you for returning the chocobo. You get a reward based on your time. It's *very* exacting. I've never gotten better than a Gyasahl Green (the lowest reward), but for really excellent times, you get neat stuff, like I said above. Note that if you get asked to run from Sandy/Bastok to Windurst or vice-versa, you're gonna need chocobo gear in order to ride that long...

I knew someone was gonna reply with something to say about that. I dont think the "return lost choco quest" really classifies as chocbo racing, What I meant by chocobo racing is like racing against people not the clock lol =P

what would be good would be is if you could race your mates for prizes. like, you set stakes for the winner. winner takes all loser loses all! CCOOLLNNEESS!!

Squenix stated that Chocobo Racing -will- be in as part of Treasures of Aht Urhgan, but I dont know if it will be in this specific content patch. If not, I'd assume the next one since the majority of players would have fully grown chocobos by then.
