How long does it take...

RjdgRjdg Member Posts: 37

Looking for a new game, I was just wondering..

How long does it take before things start to become cool?
I.E. When can you get cool weapons, cool mechs(?), when can you get along good etc.

Also, does the leveling really takes that long?
Would this be the game for me if I could play +/- 2 hrs. a day?

Cheers

For me I found the game cool from the start all the armours i collected looked cool and different. Ive spent about 18 hours in game getting to level 18 and in that time I've also checked out the chip wars which is cool. You do however need to be I think at least around level 30 to actively participate in the PvP without being one or two hitted.

Ok, thanks. And might I ask what kind of gamer you are?
Are you a power-hardcore grinder or just a regular player (ie. that doesn't rush all the time)?

So the game is worht trying for a while is it, doesn't the grinding get boring, or is there enough diversion in it?

I would say im more a casual gamer however every so often I get chances to play for a long burst. The grind is kinda boring, but compared to some of the games I've played (and I've played most of the mainstream mmo's) it isn't all that bad. My best advice is play the game to 20 and go check out a chip war (mass PvP) and see what you think after that, all of which is possible in the trial. I personally don't like grinding im more for PvP but If I can put up with the grind It can't be half bad.

    Ok, that's great.
I'm now downloading the trial ATM.
I myself don't mind grinding, used to do it all the time in WoW only there needs to be some diversity in like landscape, music, monsters etc. Not that I'm tied to one specific zone each few levels I play, get my point?

Yeah, If you can handle WoW to 60 this game will be a piece of cake the scenery and mobs change its the same as WoW only you don't need to run around looking for quest npc's which I prefer

Speaking of quests, how do I get new quests?
I just finished the turorial and my starting quest and now it seems to me I need to get a new quests, though I don't know where to get it.
BTW, I'm a Bellato Ranger if it helps.

Im not sure as I'm Accrecian and haven't played bellato  but for me the quests come through automatically did this happen for the first quest? if so then you jus have to keep grinding till you get high enough level for the next quest to be given to you.

So it will happen automatically then? Then I'll just have to start grinding, wich doesn't seem too bad as everybody says :D.

If you feel that about the grind then its a good sign. It only gets better

EDITL: oh and i checked out the other races today and yes your quests come automatically its the same for all 3, you'll get them as you hit certain levels.

the quests come to you automatically as you level...

but watch out for the PT grind. that's the one reason why i've come to hate the game.

grinding level isn't hard at all. it's the pt grind that kills you.

in case you don't know, pt is the point system that levels your skill... ranged attack, for example, levels on its own compared to short attack, force attack, and shield use. you can level up without leveling your pt, but you'll be come super gimped and suck.... which is pretty much what i ended up doing...

really, the pt grind sucks... but if you're into that, rfo is the game for you.
