Is anyone else getting tired of waiting for I7??

I am rather worried about the current state of a few NCSOFT games, it seems to me that they are taking far too long with some of their content updates and patches.

I too have been waiting a while for I7 to go live in the hope that the mayhem missions will add some fun to COV, I am also still waiting for the fixes to auto assault to go live so that I can go back to my 46 engineer. In both cases NCSOFT are taking their sweet time over things. Both of these games need their respective updates putting out to get subscription numbers on the rise (especially auto assault).

They also need to get an equivalent to the station pass running.

Very tired.  Once my main villain got to level 40 I figured I'd take a break, and thus let my subscription run out.  I had planned to re-up once I7 was patched live, and so have been waiting, waiting, waiting

Getting a little annoyed at this point. I alternate between EQ2 and CoX, and had let EQ2 run out as I had anticpated I7 coming this month, but alas!  EQ2 patches tons of crap every month, why does NCSoft drag theirs out so dramatically?  It really is growing tiresome.

The only thing that I could guess on is that they don't have enough people to work on all their games?

They what atm, seven MMOs that are live and two or three in the making. Something like that. Thats pretty nutty.

Although I now what I just typed isn't the case... I'm just bored and felt like saying something :P

from what i heard, the hold up is the pvp zone.  adding all the named NPCs, fixing it to where if you take over such and such points, then this toon or that toon shows up to help your side.

normally they just add one zone per issue.  this one they ARE adding two.  plus, they've gone from two teams (one working on coh and one on cov in i6) down to just one team.

from what i've heard, after i7, things should be back to their normal three month per issue route.  but that leaves me wondering... will it be just one zone per issue?  i.e. either a hero or a villain zone?  will it be only hero OR villain powersets, not both?

i was of the understanding (pre cov release) that each issue would contain zones and powersets for both heroes and villains.  but i7 only has villain powersets...

I was thinking about getting CoV...do you have to have CoH to play CoV?  And do you fight in between games?  Meaning do people from CoH fight people from CoV?

CoV's not an expansion, it's a stand alone game, therefore CoH isn't required to play it. If you have both, you still only play 15 bucks a month to play. If you have just one, you can still PvP players from the other game. I would suggest getting one or the other, it depends if you want to be a hero or a villain, the game play's the same.

Sweet, I always though that for some reason you needed both to PVP. Maybe I will pick up CoV in a few days...

    that's right but wrong.

if you own coh, then cov is an expansion.  if you enter it as a separate game, you now have two accounts.  you have to enter it as an upgrade.

if you only have coh, you don't get access to super group bases.  definitely an expansion there.

but you can play it stand alone (although they're now packaging both for the price of one like $35/40 at sam's i saw the other day).

now, marketing worded it as not an expansion and many a player entered it as a separate game only to have to delete either the coh or cov account in order to enter one as an upgrade to the other.  please don't make that mistake and cost yourself whatever time you've spent building your villains.  because they don't delete the names, so you'll have lost whatever cool/original names you'd come up with for your villains.

Exactly, and it works both ways. If you have never bought either game before, then when you buy one you have to treat the other like an expansion. For example...

Buy CoH, then buy CoV = CoH (main game), CoV (expansion)

Buy CoV, then buy CoH = CoV (main game), CoH (expansion)

If you don't put one of them in your account as an "upgrade" then you could accidently wind up with 2 monthly fees if you're not careful.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to I7 it's long overdue IMHO.

Ah, I could see the little confusion there. Thanks for letting us know.
Now I just have to figure out what to do...

Play CoV or continue working on my MUD...

Sorry I know this is a dumb question and all....but what is a MUD?  I hear it all the time just have never known what it stands for.  Thanks to all that do not flame me or anything, and death to all that do.

Multi-User Dungeon. they are the father of MMOs.

A text-based game played over a telnet connection to the hosting server. Pretty much any / command you enter in an MMO (i.e. "/who") came from the MUDs.

I don't have one open to the public anymore. It was very enjoyable and rewarding when I did though. So someday I hope to have the one I'm programming now up again. I love the player feed-back I got ::::22::
