Is SWG Dead?

I have come back after a long and extensive leave from SWG and I have to say... does anyone else hear the crickets or is it just me?

Although, it still has a large fanbase -- though most of it is outside the game flaming the hell out of it.

The folks at SOE thinks SWG is quite alive but even they have admitted to a 120k drop in subscribers ( My guess more, alot more) as well as bowing to the 6.5 Million Player WoW.
In other words , unless you work for SOE or a vitual masochist who enjoyed have their game totally changed without any recourse then SWG is truly dead.

A key sign to this is the fact the the DEVS are slowly making the NGE game more like previous game. They're adding a taret lock, and expertise system, they're trying to find ways to make the professions interact with eachother. Sounds an awful lot like CU and Pre-CU to me. Is this their way of throwing in the towell? I don't think so because they'll screw that up too!

I have actually been making a point to check the server loads on the character creation screen lately and I will say most are on light most of the day with a very on very light and maybe 2 on medium. It's obvious the amount of players that are actually logging in is down.

What time was that at? I had a look today (well, yesterday for you lot) for the first time in a few weeks at around 10pm EST and there was only around 4 or 5 below medium....

I dont like the way the game is now, I dislike the FPS style of play and think almost everything that made SWG once a great game has just about been removed or completely changed. The community feels so empty, the economy seemed to be struggling and I struggled to find more than a handful of people anywhere I went.
Everything SOE said they would never do to SWG, they did anyway... so maybe that gives me a glimmer of hope that when they say they won't make a pre-CU server that maybe, just maybe they are lying yet again
