Yes, I'll admit it. DnL has the potential to be the greatest MMORPG that ever existed.
As does EVERY SINGLE MMORPG that's either currently live or in development.
The game has "potential" because they're working to get the bugs out. The game has "potential" because they're working to improve graphics. The game has "potential" because they're working on improving game play and balancing the various elements. The game has "potential" because of all the features that they promise they'll be putting in...sooner or later. Etc., etc.
Don't ALL these things apply to ALL MMORPG's?
The whole "DnL has potential" argument is empty. Why? Because despite what the devs have promised, you need to look at the things they've already delivered. And based on their past performance, it's impossible for any reasonable person to the believe that Farlan will be capable of delivering on their promises.
I mean, after 6 years in development, Farlan's put out a buggy, graphically primitive, featureless, contentless game. How long do you people who keep harping on this game's "potential" think it'll take for them to deliver all of these things that you say will make this game the best ever?
And after the blatant lie of "Beta is not SoG, SoG is not DnL", WHY do you choose to believe ANYTHING they have to say?
There is NO realistic indication that DnL will EVER become much more than what it is now. The hope for improvement is based strictly on the words of devs who have been caught in many, many indisputable lies.

They have moved from the realm of potential to probability. It is a probability that they will break more things with this next patch.
As far as I can tell from the DnL forums there are MORE bugs in game today than at launch. You figure that one out.
People here are confusing the words potential and magic. Yes its possible that some things can be fixed and its possible that they can add enough content to make DnL close to a shell of a normal game. But the odds of them producing enough content to make a decent game is so long and ridiculous one might as well play the lottery. In six years of development they have produced almost nothing. Never has a game even be released with such little content or with such poor stability. Give this game to a professional developer with a competitive budget and it has the potential to be in releaseable form in 2-3 years. But with the present developers there is no possibility this game will have enough content, proper design, balance and be in a playable form even if they had 5 more years to work on the game. Look how little they have done in three years of beta or in the 7 months since SoG's release. Nothing. Farlan was founded in 2002. They admitted in 2003 that they actually started development of the game in either 1999 or 2000. In all this time they have accomplished nothing except release a graphical chatroom that contains a flight simulator. Nothing that even resembles a game.
This game does not have potential except the potential to go bankrupt. The only thing that can save it is a miracle. Nothing less than a miracle or second coming can save this game. Jackdog has said for a long time that DnL is a dead game game walking. My guess is it won't be walking much longer.
