Just to tell the people that started playing Guild Wars this game after a while will start getting on your nerves and you will not like it anymore. It took me 8 months to get tired of it
If you managed to get tired of this game then congratulations, I have no idea how you did it. You probably just decided to go through the basic storyline and stop there, the fact is there is sooo much more than just the basic quests and missions in this game. This game was designed for PvP and once you truly get into that there is no getting out of it, making builds and testing team builds with your guild in HA is one of the most fun things you can possibly do. There is also the farming you can do once you feel like just making money and getting better stuff. (which by the way is mostly for pvp) You can also do runs such as FoW chest runs and Droks runs which are some of the most challenging and biggest skill testers in any game today. If you got sick of this game it was because you stopped trying to enjoy the game and just kept playing the basics for the heck of it. Also if you managed to get frustrated it is probably because this game is not just a hack and slash grind game, believe it or not it actually takes a certain amount of skill. This is one of few games where if you don't have that skill you won't get anywhere and you WILL get frustrated, however if you do have the skill it is one of the best games out there. (Ranked #2 right now on the main page ratings board, WoW is off the chart) If you failed at this game it was YOUR fault and not the game's so instead of saying the game is boring just go back to your basic hack and slash grinder, AKA WoW.
Yeah, you can get tired of almost anything if you do it all the time.
Took me about 4 or 5 months to tire of GW the first time. Then I went back into it recently and it took me another 2 or 3 months or so to want a change again. I've said it before, but it's worth saying again, that's the advantage of GW you can leave and return to it anytime and not feel like you've wasted your subscription money...cause you aren't paying anything.
I've had the last 2 weeks not playing GW much at all, playing some Xbox and PS2 stuff, as well as some RTS for a bit of a change. I know that in a couple of weeks I'll be back into GW and finish up all my chars on the Factions missions, then I'll be ready for the next expansion.
I get tired of the game occasionally, so I just take a break and do something else for a while (Super Smash Bros. Melee and Breath of Fire III were my latest choices) then came back and GW was fun again.
That's the real beauty of the game, since there's no monthly, there's no preasure to play. That, and characters are persistant, so you won't need to grind at all ever to be competative.

- playing a game that pulls a 180° in design philosophy after release and turns into an EQesque clone at the endgame after having spent over 180 bucks on it and way too much time..... Priceless? no sad
i m still happy as ever with Guildwars and play regulary since a year too.

how can you get bored from this game? ive been playing for a year and it gets better everyday. you just need to find a good pvp guild, thats the key to enjoying this game.
GW is one of those games that you either love or hate imo.
You have to be a PvP enthusiast to fully appreicate this game, as that is what it involves mostly during end game.
If you're like me, and don't like to PvP much thats probably why you became bored of it, but 8 months is still a good amount of time playing a game such as GW since it doesn't require much grinding. Only farming for equips to sell or use at most could be considered grinding.

Every game does at one point, really. Clocked more than 2000 hours on GW so far, in the year that I have been playing, and still having fun. Not a bad amount, I would say.
------------------------------------------------
Playing: Final Fantasy Online: ARR, Destiny Most memorable games for me: UO, GW1, LoTRO
as a longterm MMO player (5 years EQ, 1 year WoW) i d also like to add, that Guildwars was quite refreshing with it s indepth skill and combat system, as opposed to the traditional autoattack and afk + 1+2 buttonpress gear grind design............. if you do get bored of Guildwars....... then pretty much forget about playing any MMO at all, you will most likely be utterly and completely bored from the get go.
I have been playing GW since the 2nd Beta weekend...and I still LOVE this game. I have had to take a few weeks off becaue of school, but besides that I play pretty much everyday. I understand the other games (WoW, Eq, City of Heroes/Villains) need to keep their servers up and running, I just don't see shelling out 150.00 a year just for the opprotunity to play their game.
I will stay with GW as long as I love the game, heck I still play D2......on occasion Well, peace out folks!!
I'm sorry to hear that your tired of this game, Kinda sucks for you cus your missing out. Your probably tired or pve becuase I dont see how Pvp can get ne boring, ive playing for over a year now and it just gets better and better. maybe join a good guild??

Another note: Cheaper doesn't mean better.
You don't have to play factions but I added it in there to make the point that even with gwf it is still cheaper than WoW. Why didn't you make the point that you don't have to play burning crusade either? Cheaper may not always mean better, however if it's better (which gw is) AND cheaper (which gw also is) then it's all around just better... And as to the fanboy comment, thanks, I like others to know where my loyalty stays.
Yes you can switch from PvP to PvE and back again whenever you want. All you gotta to is swap out any skill changes you wanna make, swap around any attributes you wanna change, or even just jump right in. They've made it very easy for everyone to respec their character whenever and however they want.
As far as GW getting boring, let me first say that I get bored of games real fast usually. The difference for me with Guild Wars is that I never felt like I was losing anything if I didn't play for a month or whatever. I play the game casually and still have not seen about 40% of the game. (I've been playing for over a year) The game world really is quite big. You can burn through it all quickly if you really want, or you can take your time and get alot of enjoyment out of it.
The thing you have to remember though is that everyone gets bored of games at different rates. I got bored of WoW in 6 months or so (I burned through the game, and I didn't feel like there was anything to do at the endgame besides sit on a raid for 6 hours, and frankly while I did that with EQ, I grew out of that and now have a social life which tends to preclude me from sitting at home on the computer for 6 hours on friday night waiting for an item that may drop and I might have a chance of winning).
I still think WoW is possibly the best MMO out there. However, the game started to become less and less fun, and the monthly fee became something less and less necessary. So I canceled my subscription. With Guild Wars, if I get bored of it for a while, I don't have to play it, and if I ever decide to try it again, my account will be there waiting for me faithfully.
