And like many things in society that become successful, greedy schmucks step into new management positions of it just saliivating for dollars, and not caring about the end product and what made it great for the people. They hire cheaper hands to save some money, and they just start screwing around thinking they are right and the majority is wrong. Like that Nancy McIntyre or whatever her name is at LA. Big example right there.
Well, for greedy people, they sure aren't successful. Why does everyone blame greed? Greedy people are very successful at parting you from your money. SOE/LA was clearly not greedy enough.
As for the hiring of cheaper hands we don't know that. But, clearly, they have sought to reduce costs. This is a clear indication they are winding down the game.
This is why when you see devs respond to requests for things like putting the combat log back in, they respond with lines saying crap like they think that would be difficult. IT'S BECAUSE THE PEOPLE THERE NOW DON'T KNOW SHIT! They are just attempting to maintain and tinker with what the great ones built. They've been doing that for a while now. That is why this game has, and will continue to go down hill.
I don't think it is so much the problem that the DEVs are not familar with feces so much as it is a problem they are not familar with distributed computing concepts, let alone game concepts.
They can't put up a pre-cu server because if you're paying them money, they have to provide support. And they're not going to set up a pre-cu support and an NGE support division. They aren't stupid, they know that anyone left will go to the pre-cu server and 100K at least would come back, so they'd really just be doing a retarded version of a rollback.
All your really saying here is that SOE is winding down the game because they aren't greedy enough to make SWG/preNGE succesful.
So, please people, stop saying "give us a pre-cu server!". We all would love that, but you'll have to wait until you see some key people get fired. Like Julio and Ms McIntyre over at LEC.
I am the consumer, I will ask for whatever I want and I will trade my money with those that provide it. So, please, don't tell me how to be a consumer.
EDIT: Oh, and a note. Please shutup about SWG EMU. One of the things that kept SWG great was the enforcement. The management might've been shit toward the end, but you can't deny that back in the day, when you had people exploiting things like resources/credits/items/slicing, they were quick to ban those people. You think you're going to have that in an EMU? Think again.
How rude. The SWG EMU is attempting to fill a void that SWG/LA have left. That is the nature of free markets: identifying a need and filling.

They bet on the pie in the sky player base, it failed because the product could not sell itself, they had nothing to show us vets.. we were hooked. By them screwing us, made it worse..they had nothing to fall back on and it shows.
Now they are doing the Dog and Pony show with nothing up thier sleeve. The point is that nobody will be there to see it when they show somthing good or worthy. Getting 1 thing right out of 1000 bad ones is no prize. Get 1000 things right and having to fix that 1 is much more impressive.

Pre-CU will happen. Either a EMU version or SOE will offer classic servers. I would prefer a classic server. I dont care about sploiters, dupers, afk-grinders or stackers. I rarly bummped into them back in the days. Our guild was self reliant. With doctors, WS, AS, BE, CH, Rangers, smugglers, SW, combat medics. The bloody lot. We all had our role in PvP or PvE. Cooperation was the key. I just pray and hope i will see those days again soon.
