    Summoner?  SWG doesn't have summoners or mage skills.  It's set in the Star Wars Universe.  There's creature handlers/ pet tamers...but you can't summon undead creatures.  Correct me if you mean something else.

    sorry i have been playing to much fanasty mmorpg hehe. but i mean the creature handler.

  • YordoYordo Member Posts: 831
    Then you don't need to be a specific class for Creature Handler.  Only the crafting professions have major advantages with certain races.  You can choose any class that appeals to you for the CH.  You can't go right into that profession, however.  You must complete the minor profession of Scout first.  Not as easy as it sounds either.

    lol, no comment

    2. Want battles? Get out of the playground and onto the mean gritty streets of the unofficial PvP servers. LOL.

    3. En1Gma never joined a Rebel or Imperial PA (Player Association) so of course he rarely to never got into any battles. He was also never on any of the unofficial PvP servers. He also has not recently played the game itself.

    Hmm...now that is trolling.  I have been involved in PAs .  3 as a matter of fact.  The only problem was that the first 2 all quit the game and the third one I was involved in was one of the biggest PAs on my server.  Also, I played sicne December.....I consider that recent

    How each server got its name, plus more detailed info about the server types:

    http://swg.stratics.com/content/gameplay/atlas/servers.shtml

    PvP:

     Bloodfin - Very hardcore PvP server. Heavily favors Imperial Players (Because of benifits from exploit during first month of release.)

     Valcyn - Much newer PvP server. No one benefited from any early release exploits.

     Scylla - Home of the most famous Imperial and Rebel RPing (Role-Playing) PA's (Player Associations aka guilds). Pax Imperious and KOTOR. They engage in RPing PvP.

    before you make your character in game, check out the SWG forums

     Each server has its own forum. At the top is a sticky created by the game DEVs telling what each server Unoffcially is. If the server has changed or was intended to be PvP then it will be mentioned in the game DEV sticky at the top of each server forum. There is also a sticky for each active PA (Player Association). Joining an Imperial or Rebel PA on a PvP server will more likely guarantee one will engage in PvP.

    ============================================================

     Any species can learn any skill in the game. Any species can join any faction Rebel, Imperial, CorSec, Hutt, Thug, etc... etc...

    Every species (except Human if I remember right) gets special species-only bonueses. Some get stronger minds, some stronger health. SWG has 3 "heath bars" along with 6 secondary "health bars". It seems complicated at first, but adds more stratagy to the game. And this is the "secret" how low level players are able to kill vet players. And how no player, no matter how long they play this game, will ever be automatically Invincible (like in DAoC, and most other MMORPGs).

    Based on my experience, and my friends, playing SWG these are the best species for:

    PvP:

     Trandoshan - Their regenative powers are incredible. They can dish it out, as well as take it. Will almost never bleed to death. (IMHO the worse move to have done to you LOL) Yeah they canlt wear boots or gloves. But those are minor armor pieces heh. Also best at hand to had combat.

     Wookiee - A hair (pun intended) below Trandoshans. Can dish it out, and take a beating. They also make the best creature handlers.

     Zabrak - Good combat species. Have special Metal power to regenerate (simular to "Lay Hands" that Paladins get in EverQuest). They can dish it out ok. Not as good as taking a beating though.

     Those are the 3 best.

    ============================================

     Twi'Lek - IMHO the best all around species. Yes, my main character is .... a Twi'Lek! image On Sunrunner server. Not the best at anything, but decently good at everything.

      Rodian - Suppose to be pretty good at combat. Suppose to be the quickest species. I never played them hard. I rank them here based on how I've seen other players play them. IMHO they are the rarest species to see players choose. Quickness is suppose to be their bonus.

      Bothan - Good all around species. NICE choice for extreem and fun variety! Be noticed no matter where you go! image

      Human - IMHO they kinda suck LOL. Not good at anything. Easily killed. My first ever character was a Human. I think they still get no starting species-only bonuses.

      Mon Calamari - Strongest minds. Best crafters. Worse at hand to hand combat. But good at Ranged combat. (strong mind pool = can use special skills more often.)  My 2nd main character is a Mon Calamari miner on Wanderhome server.

    PvE:

     For Hand to hand combat the list is the same. For using Blasters,  any species can be good to use, because the idea is kill the NPCs and Monsters, before they kill you. Do this by getting the best possible body armor, Leg armor, you can. Some players also get the best possible helmet too. But body armor and leg armor are the most important. Even the most hardcore PvE players wear at least body armor.

      Also, using the highest "level" gun is not always the best idea. This is where player crafted items takes on a whole new meaning. A Low level gun crafted with the best Elite parts, and sliced, will be/can be FAR better than a much higher level gun that costs twice as much! Always first see how much of the 3 major "health" bars different guns use up. Then see what the speed of the gun is. Then see what the damage of the gun is.

    =======================================================

      If you want your character to have an "avarage looking body" move the body sliders close to 2/3 to the RIGHT. Not in the middle. (I made this same mistake first time I played.)

     Last, while you are still using the New Player Tutorial, while you are still in the Space Station..... you can INSTANTLY re-set, re-do, your skills as many times as you want..... near the end BEFORE you pick the starting planet. When the game asks you what planet you want to start on, walk away from the terminal, open up your skills menu, move the sliders around. Set/apply your changes. They will Instantly take effect. You can do this over as many times as you like.

     I recommend you have slightly more Mind Pool than Health. At first it won't make a difference. But after you get your first special moves/special skills, having higher Mind Pool will make a HUGE difference. Get "Headshot 1" as soon as possible in the Pistol profession. Find and pay the NPC teachers in your starting city ..... Marksman profession -> Pistoleer (then get "Headshot 1") .... Artisan profession ..... medic profession ....... and Scout.

  •  I just remembered, the main advantage to being Human is they have the easiest time moving up the ranks if they are Imperial, and gaining Imperial faction points. All other species can join the Empire, but they take longer to move up the Imperial ranks and take longer to gain Imperial faction points.

     The more "Human-looking" the species the easier time they have moving up the Imperial ranks. General rough order of species that have easiest time moving up the Imperial Ranks and easiest time gaining Imperial faction points:

    1. Human

    2. Zabrak

    3. Twi'Lek

    4. Rodian

    5. Bothan

    6. Mon Calamari

    7. Trandoshan

    8. Wookiee
