FFXI Graphics...

I had no idea they were so nice.   I just looked through the screen shots.   Isn't this game about 3 years old?  

I've been "without game" for about 2 months now, wandering mmorpg.com like a lost soul looking for something new to try.   

Might have to give this one a try.

Will I be playing the game with people who are playing it with a playstation as well?

Glad you like it :-). The graphics really are somewhat dated, I think...but the art is wonderful--the landscapes have a kind of subdued naturalism that doesn't need to come up and shout at you, "Aren't I amazing?!" And the screenshots don't tell the whole story, IMHO. The background sound effects are incredible, and all the animations are smooth-flowing and natural looking.

Yes, PC, PS2 and Xbox players all play together on the same servers, as do people from the JP, NA and EU regions.

Lol, Yes they are nice. The game Is 4 Years old now. But thats only when the origional came out. Depending on what platform you play on the graphics Vairy. I know PC can be much higher even than the 360, But it can also be equal to that of the Ps2. Just Depends how much money you have, and what you're using to play =P

The Game is on 3 Platforms Atm: PC, Ps2, And Xbox 360. All platforms can play togeather, So if you're a ps2 user you could join a party with 2 360's and 3 PC users And noone could tell the diffrence unless you said somthing ^.^

FFXI also has versions for NA, EU, and JP. But has players from all over the world in each of the servers. Depending on what time you play you may see more EU, or JP players online. Every item in the game, every place, along with a variety of other commands can be Auto-Translated into another language So you can communicate with others.

this registry hack will improve your graphics somewhat (graphics will now be antialiasd) (no jagged lines around graphics)

Manually edit the registry:

?Open Regedit

?Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPlayOnlineUSSquareEnixFinalFantasyXI

?Change values 0003 and 0004 to some value between 1280 and 2048 (your
pref based on performance vs. appearance). Make sure these values are
the same. and make sure that the values you set are in decimal not hexadecimal

?Manually set your video card ansitropic filtering to at least 4x.

doing this makes this game run ALMOST perfectly antialiased for me
