Will there be religious persecution?

I am wondering how they will implement religion. Is the setting before or after the Romans became Christian and if so will there be churches etc.

At this time in history, Christianity was a cult.  Anything that wasnt the Roman Pantheon was pretty much considered a cult.

Players have expressed intrest in roleplaying Christians in game so if you wanted to, you wouldn't be alone.

    "Will there be churches?"

Well, this early in history not very many places had official meeting places for Christians. They gathered wherever, really. In public places whenever that freedom was given, or in private homes whenever someone decided they were a threat to society and should be eradicated... In the very first years they gathered in Synagogues (naturally, as they still considered themselves Jewish) but to my knowledge that ended around or before 100 AD in most places. (Since the Jews considered them heretics...)

Im sure some churches will form, but they will probably be pretty close to what actually happened in history, house churches!

One can only hope the game will have religious persecution.  I think it's time to bring back the time-honored tradition of feeding Christians to lions.

Little known fact:  There is no evidence suggesting that christians were ever fed to lions in the Flavion Amphatheater (The Colosseum)
