So have any of you guys played Ryzom, after SWG like most of yourselves I found myself lacking a Game that I could get my teeth into, I noticed this today for the first time acidentally whilst reading the DnL forum (as you do) and noticed someone talking about Ryzom I was reading the forums on the games web site and noticed a move of some of the guys doing something or another and noticed the game seems to have copied SWG's very very closely http://user.reapersofthedark.com/jayce/media/video/nakedwipe.wmv
dont download the whole thing but look at the interface, when the guys is running across the desert, o yes I dont know what post CU interface looks like so obviously I am talking about pre CU.
If any of you pre CU guys have tried this lately I would be interested in your input, and sorry Mr Moderator I know its not really a SWG's thread in its entirity, but really just to see if my memory is flawed or does this not look like a SWG interface, I suffer from Pre CU SWG fanBoi syndrome and am receiving counciling to resolve it :-)

Ryzom isnt a bad game at all.
I tried the 7 day trial and the deciding point not to subscribe was the fact that there wasnt many ppl playing. When I got off noob island.......it was dead.
Felt more like a single player to me. Maybe if I would have had subscribed a month or maybe had a 14 day trial or so, I would have met more ppl online.
"SNIFF" looks like my quest for a decent MMO will have too wait, I keep hearing the empty Server comming up all the time, and if its a DAoC clone I will not be playing, that game just felt wrong
EDIT.
I tell you what I found strange was that I was going to do the trial and then went to sign up for an acount and it just freaked so I noticed this 4_Day_Patch thing and beleive it or not the game is being taken offline to be patched, so I went to the forums and nobody was complaining, at all, not a nut, everyone was polite and positive, so either this game and forums are populated by only fanboi's. the forums are moderated my attila the hun, or they actually dont mind loosing there game for four days because its a great patch, hell man 4 day patch how pissed would you be if you lost your MMO for four days :-)
This is video from Ryzom, right?
Not from DnL.
This is DnL.
Or what exactly are you claiming. That Ryzom stole from SWG? That DnL stole from SWG? That DnL stole from Ryzom?
And apparently there's around 500-1000 players total.
And apparently there's around 500-1000 players total.
Lol, I was saying I was wandering around the D n L forums laughing at there misfortune and the amazingly resiliant Fanboi's, and noticed a thread refering to Ryzom in the D n L forums from an Ex SWG player, I then hopped onto the Ryzom forums and then noticed http://www.ryzom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8 a movie, and then noticed simularities in the Layout not so much in every part but the UI looks very close.
I then noticed a bit about the game being taken offline for 4 days, that being Ryzom being taken offline for 4 days not D n L (that turkey will never get off the ground properly) then I also noticed that there was no disentention or flaming or malcomtent in the forums http://www.ryzom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8 and that is why I said "so either this game and forums are populated by only fanboi's. the forums are moderated my attila the hun, or they actually dont mind loosing there game for four days because its a great patch"
Have a look its quite insane, imagine your MMO creators told you they were taking your game offline for 4 days
During that summer, servers (Bria at least) was crashing daily, with daily rollbacks of up to several hours, during the period of two weeks. Downtimes of several hours every other day were common. No compenstation of any kind was ever offered. Despite promises.
Then they told me, they are releasing the expansion. Then came NGE.
During the CU/NGE transition periods, the effective downtime was well over one day each, with several days being completely unplayable due to completely broken basic gameplay elements.
My game was taken offline permanently in 2005, with the arrival of CU. It was shutdown in november of same year with release of NGE.
So yes, I know what it looks like.
And instead of moving on, they decided to keep selling a travesty of a game under the same name, under same terms, with the same type of management, they even brought back all of the bugs that have existed for 3 years.
Welcome to SWG forums. Enjoy your stay. You name it, we've done it.
