Just wondering how many people are actaually wanting the 30/60 day timecard for Horizons? Today is the end of the contest and I'm really hoping to get one. I've heard enogh negativity about the game that I have held off on trying the game but have heard good things too. This will be a good way to find out how good/bad the game is without any risk, at least for me. Anyone else?

Well, like I said. For free, I wouldn't be risking anything. But I don't think there's any chance of me becoming a fanbois, so we're all safe
Well David Bowman is the master of generating rumours from nothing. If the latest is to be believed Tulga are working on Horizons 2 or could it be the fabled Elders expansion and also working on a completely unrelated mmorpg. No doubt that would involved crafting and dragons too. They'll probably call it one of the following

City of Lag
Gnomes Online
The Saga of Bowman
Final Court Order XIII

I beta tested Horizons, and stuck with it for about 6 months after release.
The crafting in the game was excellent, IMO.
Being a dragon seemed to be cool but actually playing one was frankly kind of a drag.
The fighting was awful...
The lag was even worse... anytime there were more than 10 people, or so, in a location, I was completely unable to move...
I remember the day I left. The GM's had made a player event that required killing NPC invaders in various villages... People rushed to the villages to take out the NPC invaders... and most of us couldn't fight or move because of the lag...
I gave up on it. Maybe it's better now... as you said, if it's free, you're not losing anything, at least.

Yes, Tulga (Bowman's front company) is making an expansion. There's also Dark World Online they have in the pipeline, but at the moment it's just vapourware in search of an investor.

AO's launch has horrible beyond words, probably the worst ever.
Saga of Ryzom's launch was pretty good.
Neither is remotely indicative of where the game is at now. I rant about games I don't like just like everyone else. But you'll no longer find me ranting about games like Neocron because its been years since I tried and too much has changed for anything about the game to mean anything.
It has a free trial so good or bad you can find out for yourself.
But please folks, please stop pretending that any MMO hasn't changed over the course of a few years.
AO's launch worse than Dark and Lights? Nah, doesn't even hold a candle to it.
Horizon's launch wasn't that bad, to be honest. The only real problem I experienced was not being able to login to Twilight at times shortly after released.
I didn't say it was still the way it was when I played it. I even said "maybe it's better now" and that since it's free, the originator of the thread won't be losing anything by trying it out.
I do know games change over time. I was only commenting on what made me leave the game (lag mostly), and what I liked about it (crafting).
Hey, I'm all for trying out free things. I hope the orignator of the thread will let us all know how it goes
