Now I'm thinking about LA and I realise they were not great in producing good games based on the SW universe...I mean:
- the space simulators were always strange (during every mission you were flying in a box with invisible walls which stopped you to go too far away, and even worse, you could never stop your ship and land, but only fly at low speed). The only exception I remember was X-Wing Alliance, a good game for that time.
- the FPS's were a little better but not very much (usually very simplistic, no story, no depth, also with small maps and the same invisible walls). When they introduced races in a FPS (it was SW: Jedi Academy) the race you could choose had no special quality whatsover, the only difference was visual (just like NGE). I think the best FPS based on SW universe was SW: Republic Commando (with some good team action).
- the strategy games (turn based or RTS) were never good (I can't remember even one I would play again)
- the RPG's: well, both SW RPG I've played (SW: KotoR 1 & 2) were great or very good...but LA was not involved in their development...
So I wonder: since the SW universe is so good for games (because a developer has so much space for imagination) how was it possible that in time we had only few chances to play a good SW game?
Also, when someone says LA likes to keep NGE as it is - well I don't know if it's true, but I wouldn't be amazed if it is.

X Wing V. Tie Fighter was sweet as hell. One of best flight sims ever.
Hmm..SW: Rebellion (strategy game) was fun, the N64 SW games were ok, Rogue Squadron and Shadows of the Empire. Most of the Xbox SW games were good.

IMHO, everything after JK2 and SWG was garbage, with perhaps the exceptions of Empire at War and Republic Commando, but Empire at War was not in-depth enough, and Republic Commando was ridiculously short.
I also liked Battlefront II, but it had the same old tired "ticker" gameplay from Battlefield 1942, rather than more objective based missions like Tribes or Enemy Territory. That killed it's replayability. IMO if they do a Battlefront III (and they are), they should really rip from Quake Wars/Enemy Territory instead of Battlefield 1942.

The best SW game I ever played was one when computer gaming was pretty new. You did the Battle of Hoth and graphics was terrible compaired to now. It was one of those cartriges you slapped in (not Atari, some console/computer hybrid). As you might guess I was very young at the time but man... that was one awesome game

Considering that almost every game based on a movie turns out horribly, the fact that we can even create lists of games that are actually good based on SW IP says a lot for LA. When they publish a game that we would otherwise, unfortunately, consider normal for the licensed genre we say, "they dropped the ball this time."
So even if they do actually create more bad games than good ones, they do have a stable of good and great games under their belt, which is a lot more than other film companies can claim.
