What is a linkshell?

Dumb question.
What is a linkshell? My guess is that you can transfer you char. to a new server.

Erm No >.>. A Linkshell is the equivalent to a Guild, Clan, or even Just Some friends. Most linkshells hold events and do other things for either fun, or to progress through the game. Once you equip a Linkshell you can talk to them no matter where in the world they are, And also see a list that displays every who's online in the Shell, and where they are in the world at that time.
When a person creates a Linkshell (Theres a specific NPC for this) He can pick the name & Color. While viewing the Linkshell List by his name will Appear a Shell (Looks like a clam shell). He makes Link Pearls and distributes them to people, and can also make Sack Holders(Sack holder Icon looks like a bag). A Sack holder Has all the normal powers of the Shell holder aside from making New sack holders (Only the Shell owner can do that). And the Peal holders(Their icon's are just pearls) are just normal members who don't get any special Linkshell abilities.
