Is Guild Wars worth the money?

im thinking of buying Guild Wars but im not sure its worth it, please help me decide. (im kinda new with the whole mmorpg thing)

If you are going to buy guildwars, Have it be your backup game. The game you turn to when you are bored of your other games. If you hold guildwars as your primary game, then you will absolutelly start hating it. I use it to pass the time whenever I am waiting for a download or am somewhat tired of other things I am playing so I love it in that aspect.

Definitely worth the purchase.  Fun PVE - and challenging PVP.  Like someone above said, its great for when you need a break from a monthly sub'd MMO. 

If this had a monthly charge associated with it, I'd say eh.  But, because of the no monthly fee - you cant go wrong with GW.  No feeling like you are wasting money if you dont log in for a while.

I fully endorse this statment. I don't have it as my primary. (I did at one point) I couldn't have anymore fun with it. Whenever I am like... Well I don't want to play *Insert game here* I'll go play GW, and just play for a few hours and actually do something because you can get places and do missions within those few hours.

BTW if you're getting GW don't have warrior as your subclass! >.<(I find warrior subclass pointless. To me its like oh I could have good armor and better skills, but I'm not going to.) Just my oppinion take it with a grain of salt. I think thats the expression.
