In your opinion, what is the released/unreleased MMOG wich has the highest level of customization?

From Wikipedia:

"[The apostrophe] assists in marking the possessives of all nouns and many pronouns."
"For the plural of abbreviations, an apostrophe is widely regarded as incorrect, so CDs is preferable to CD’s."

    depends.

In terms of looks, City of Heroes.

in terms of character, Ragnarok Online without a doubt. I don't remember any other game where a Wizard can be a tank and a paladin (called crusader there) can be the damage dealer.

Try the Saga of Ryzom, has a completely open skill tree where you can learn everything if you work long enough (noones got all 11,000+ levels so far), a new expansion coming soon which brings player made scenarios into the game which will allow you to do what you want even more.  A lot of former SWG players like it's open skill system too.  There is an infinite time free trial over at ryzom.com if your interested :)

I'd have to say Everquest two. can customize everything down to their eyebrows, chin, nose length, hair highlights etc.

FFXI had a decent level of customization...

It's just that people always tended to choose the same things. Which really sucked.

    Hm... Yeah...

Wow... you haven't played MMORPGs much, have you?

A few faces, and 10 hairstyles, with 3 colours each, is not a decent level of customization...

On second thought, you're right. It is a decent level of customization, because most other MMORPGs have even less.

In terms of how your character looks -> City of Heroes/Villans wins hands down. Actually i dont think any game will even come close to it..ever.

Heck character customization is like a minigame in CoH/CoV

As for skills - I would say - Guild Wars , you can customize until your brain melts.

Equipmentwise - WOW - lot of diferent possibilities and looks

    lol he said mmo.

I dont think Ragnarok Online has alot of customization, but its class system can offer a large amount of customization if they had more skills.  Ragnarok Online 2 can definetly get alot of customization with more then just its complex class system.  With leveling items, there are alot of branching possibilites that can be added to with each patch.  Hopefully, the game will deliver; Gravity has been taking a major profit punch developing it instead of upgrading existing games.

I would say right now; the game that offers a great and balanced customization level is Ultima Online.  There are a few games on the horizon that also offer a good amount of customization.  Hero's Journey is definetly shaping up.  Its creation offers alot of possibilities, and its adding in just those little things that add to the game.  Ship building games also offers alot of customization; not too sure about Eve though because I feel it just doesn't have enough ships or things to do.  Also many of the changes aren't noticable.  Hopefully the new patch will add more.  Still don't plan to play Eve since its just not for me.  Vanguard might offer quite alot of customization; but I am not to sure about it since quite a few people who have played it think of it as Everquest 2-II.

in terms of customizing the look of your character, the first two to come to mind are City of Heroes/Villians, and Everquest 2. both games have a highly detailed character customization.

if you are looking for a wide variety of choices in skills, eve online holds the first position in my head, you can literally be anything you want with a single character.
