PATCH IS OUT!

DanjakDanjak Member Posts: 197

Massive patch just went live.  Major boost to convoys that now includes mission sharing (yay!!!).  So grab everyone you know with a computer, link them to the free trial account, and let's do this thing right!

AA is a fantastic game... it's only fault was the lack of players.  Now that the patch is out, it's a perfect time to give it a second try or get new players involved.

And, as I mentioned in my other thread, this is a small community, so we need to band together.  I'm joining the BREAKDOWN server and hope others will follow.

See you on the highway!

I know it's early yet, but I'm hoping people will post their reactions to the patch. So far on the official forums the reviews seem to be mixed. I should probably have specific questions ("was X fixed, was Y solved?"), but I don't. What do people think?

    I have a specific question:
how many people do still have problems with their ATI cards crashing under AA?

That was my most hated bug in Beta (Radeon 9600 pro). Symptoms usually included the screen freezing, then blanking out and finally VPU Recover would reset the card, unless you switched it off. After the reset, I usually could continue playing, but it was still HIGHLY annoying.

    So, any comments?

Ati's legacy is that they always seem to have problems with games. For years ATI has crashed with games, not all games but a LOT of games. ATI  are like french car manufacturers, they make em , they look good on paper but when you buy one you find its a little *creaky* lol.

Maybe their drivers suck but most game companies manage to work around it.
Day Of Defeat, Call Of Duty, Freelancer and the F.E.A.R demo all run crash-free on my Radeon 9600 pro (F.E.A.R was abysmal in performance but it did not crash).

I think that the lack of players seems to indicate that there are other problems.  If people thought that this was a better game, there would be no lack of players.  The lack of players is not the problem, it is the result of the game.
