Thinking of Starting the Game Few questions.

Hi i've been looking for a new mmorpg to spent my summer hoildays on, The Saga of Ryzon seem like a pretty good choice up my list.

Let my introduce myself, while not really hardcore mmoprgist, I have been playing a lot of MMORPGs in my time such as WoW, Guild wars, EvE etc etc also beta tested countless games and have a general idea what i like and dont like.

I would just like to ask a few questions regarding this game. since the review is more than a year old.

1. What is the skill system like, I heard it is similar to Eve, does that mean all the skills are leveled up by time(in eve the longer u subscribe the more skills you have even while offline)? or effort(example, Neocron rewards skill points from amount of time spent practice that skill, i.e. killing)

2. PvP systems, I am pretty found of pvp since that is the main high level content I like to do, I would just like to know regarding safe zones, FFA zones, or any other zones there might be?

3. Leveling ability, How fast does the skill level? and how is it to archive capped level, is it for example near instant end level like guild wars? or like EvE where skills seem to go on endlessly)

4. Endlevel content, what are there to do for those end level players? any organised war? major storyline controlled developed by the GM?

5. Economy, How player driven is the economy? does it mainly depend on NPC selling and buying junk off you or is there a highly active player driven economy?

6. Player base, I have never actually got a accurate representation of this, but how many player are there usually on? does it create crowed effects in cities or even out in the wild? How often is it to come across another player while in middle of nowhere?

Hi There

Answwer 3 the lvl is 250 and it has many trees that branch off so you can make skills how you like to make them..

answer 5 You sell goods to the NPCs and they sell for you 24/7 think they stay on file for 6 days..

This is really great stuff since ive yet to see anything of amor or weapons drop... Lots of fun making your own stuff!

answer 6 now that they have set up no pay to play on the Noob island this place crawls with people... Now you get to play the game and see how you like befor you buy and move on to the Mainland...

This noob island is not the game, its only a starter island and the real world begins when you leave to the mainland...

Join a Guild and take over an Outbase i hear that is very fun pvp and owning a base gives very good stuff..

I would like to give it a trial, but unforunitly the game is a whopping 1.5g, Will take a all nighter on my pc ^^, for me i think if i decide to download it, then it'll be for subscription not for trial

I've only been playing for a short time but I will try to answer your questions.

1. The skill system is similar to SWG before the NGE.    Except you never have to give up a skill.   You can max every single skill but it would take a very very very long time.   You do not level while offline like eve, you need to actually do something for XP.

2. To the best of my knowledge PVP is consentual.   There are PVP zones/areas in the game, but its your choice to go into them.

3.   Like most games, the beginning levels are easy to level, but get harder as you go on.

4. Donno, not even close to being able to take part in this stuff yet.

5. Economy is very player driven.   The bad news is that there is no bazzar/auction house, just npc's that will hold your goods for sale for a week or something.    The mobs in the game dont drop the uber sword of death, rather they drop crafting materials that you can then either use yourself to make your sword, or trade to another player.

6. Donno, not really far enough into the game yet to determine this.

No. Its modular like eve - i.e. 2 handed melee requires level 50 general melee combat. The game is most like SWG which was entirely modular with gradual specialisation, which is all effort based grinding.

PvP is consentual but there are FFA zones.. There is no RvR

Although I hate to mention the game by name, the pace seems comparable to wow. If you know what youre doing you can probly max one skill tree of one character in say 3 months. Saying that, it is eve like... the skills branch out to a couple of dozen different possibilities and aiming to max them all would take more like a year. The general gist is that if you want say combat then you max one combat tree that will give you many hp bonuses and allow you to equip the best armor and weapon from another tree so that you can level the other tree extremely fast.

4. Endlevel content, what are there to do for those end level players? any organised war? major storyline controlled developed by the GM?

I hear of named hunting but Im n00b There are rp events with start times.

NPC chucks out junk. The economy is black market - join a good guild and theyll generally give you what you need at any level.

No crowding. The game is subsidised with npcs too, this actually makes it feel crowded sometimes - if youre out levelling theyll always be atleast one other person on the far set radar. The free trial / n00b area has a LOT of people - hundreds at any one time.

Why not...trial it? It's only going to take a night, you say. I don't see why you can't just try it out.
