World of Warcraft costs too much?

MMORPG users,

Agree with me. If a game costs 15 dollars a month, and you play for a whole year, it comes out to $170 a year. This makes a ton of money for Blizzard since they have over 5 million players just in the United States. They make $75 million a month, that's crazy! Blizzard has every right to give a monthly payment, but really costing this much? World of Warcraft is a rich person's game. The purpose of this topic is for people to sign a petition to help create a more appropriate price. The petition is as folllows:

1. You agree that Blizzard Entertainment should reduce the price of World of Warcraft to $10 a month at least.

2. You agree that if Blizzard listens to statement number 1 they could have a lot more people join World of Warcraft making even more money in the end.

3. World of Warcraft is one of the greatest MMORPG's of all times.

4. If you sign the petition and if Blizzard listens to this petition, you will subscribe to the massive multiplayer online role playing game 'World of Warcraft' and purchase 'World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade' expansion pack when it releases in November 2006.

5. You respect Blizzard and all of the games that they have created, including World of Warcraft.

    At this point, I don't think Blizzard could do anything to increase their subscriber base, short of expanding into an alternate universe or some other inhabited planet.

    They don't make $75 mil a month, thats just the money that comes in from those 5 mil accounts, but basic economics 101 states that there are other transactions at hand.

    I agree with the rest, BUT, I'm signin nothing!

    Oops.  I guess my eyes glazed over before I got to that part.  So sorry.  I guess I'll head over to the OT forum and start a petition to lower the price of gasoline.

    I forgive those who apologised but people reduce the monthly payment of their game all the time, it isn't something hard to do.

    lets get our facts right first, shall we?

    World of Warcraft has around 6,5 million players all over the world, however they really don't have 5 million in the united states. I believe the latest official statement was 1,5 million?

    your comment that more cheaper price = more players = more money is so damn hillarious its not even funny anymore. Blizzard is part of Vivendi. they have top business. I'm sure they know what would give them more profit A LOT better then you do.

    its 15$ a month. thats cheaper then going to the movies (if you buy all the food & drinks)
    in fact, 15$ a month is dirty cheaping considering how much hours of entertainment you will get from World of Wacraft ( if its your type of game, ofcourse, but lets not change this discussion into that)
    My advice? get a job and just pay for the game like everyone else and stop this pointless petition, Blizzard WILL NOT lower the price because a few whiney people don't want to pay for it

    also, this is mmorpg.com. not the official WoW forum. the forums here are used for discussion, not pointless topics with idiots typing pages full of /signed posts.
