Picking a server...

Does anyone else have difficulty joining a mmorpg server when you start? I always think to myself, "which one of these servers have the cool people and the funnest community?"

I generally attempt to stay with the first server I made a character on, figuring I was destined to play on that server. Pretty deep, eh?

I usually move from one game to another with people I know, so we all decide where we want to land together in the beginning. Later, I tend to play multiple characters across a number of servers because I want a change of pace or to meet new people or to take a break from guild drama or whatever.

Well for me and my friends we tend to stick to low volume servers. I hate lag, but then am I being hypocritical for buying a mmorpg and then picking a server with less people........

I would just pick a random server where me and my mmorpg friends would play in. Usually i would choose the lesser people server cause well, less lag = more fun?
