And that's about the only part of DnL that actually looks decent, until you get up close anyways. Too bad the current programmers are too inept to actually work with the engine since the VWorld creater left. Also Worst. Player Models. EVAR!
Heh yeah I mean just look at this Place.. Best..Graphix..EVA :P
I would have to go with Huxley so far though, combine that with the fact that its using the UT engine (First MMORPG EVER?) and I think it will destroy ever other game Graphically as well as performance wise.

Lol this whole thread is pointless since there is no such thing as a graphics engine :P It's called a game engine, and how high resolution the textures are nor the amount of the pylogons the models contain doesn't determine wether it's a good engine or not.
To the people saying WoW or Lineage II, do those games even offer the features that the Everquest II graphics engine offers?
I know for a fact that the shadows in WoW are nowhere near as good as the shadowing in Everquest II. That's just one example there. And I'm sure there are other things that the Everquest II engine offers that WoW doesn't.
And with Lineage II, I'm not seeing nearly as much detail on the textures. I don't know the technical terms, but there are textures in EQ2 that actually look wet when it rains. And the light shimmers off of fibers on the clothes and stuff. The textures in Lineage II don't respond to the light shining on them.
I thought it was best graphics engine. If you're looking for best engine then you want one that offers the most. If you complain that EQ2 doesn't run good on your pc, there is an options button where you can turn those features off. But at least you know the graphics engine offers them to you instead of totally disregarding them.

Actually they do in fact, the whole work and character models are MUCH more detailed then Everquest 2's
WOW uses low poly models. The textures on those models are good but other than that..
I have a fairly poor video card. I can run Guild Wars on the highest settings possible and get good FPS and it looks amazing. WOW and EQ2 both looked like crap and preformed like crap aswel for me. The rubber banding in guildwars is lag and has nothing to do with the graphics engine...lol.
WOW does not have a good engine. EQ2 may be good but its probably so bloated and slow that you'll never experience it at its best. Guild Wars looks better and runs on old computers so i think its engine is far superior to both WOW and EQ2.

?????
No they don't. I played Lineage II. The textures don't respond to light shining on them. Have you played Everquest II? There is seperate shadowing on the objects! Not just the regular shadowing that's in every game out there. I'm talking about the grooves in stuff. Like the grain in the wood in my bow. When I turn, the shadows on the wood grain change. That is not in Lineage II. I promise you.
And I think that there are a tons more options that Everquest II has that Lineage II doesn't offer. I would say that the same options in GW are about what Lineage II has. Lineage II's graphic engine was meant to be scaled down. For the big battles. If it were as complex a graphics engine as EQII's is it would never run during castle raids.

Actually they aren't. EQ2 can have bump mapping and normal mapping capabilities and this is something that L2 doesn't. EQ2 also has the ability to use tons of shaders whereas L2 has very few. All that said the texturing in EQ2 is just shite and it makes everything look bland, shiny but bland.
And to the person who said that huxeley is the first MMO to use the unreal engine, that is incorrect, L2 uses an earlier version of the UE and Guild Wars uses UE 2.0. Huxely is the first MMO that is using UE 3.0.
The rendering engine is part of the game engine. If you see an add about a 3d real time graphics engine, it's probably the whole engine. You can't judge an engine purely on the it's rendering capabilities. That would be like judging the power of a car purely based on the motor or any other part for that sake.
I play the EQII trail the graphics didnt really look good to me compard to L2 i dont like L2 graphics or EQ2 graphics but i have to pick between the to an i pick L2

Lineage 2 and Guildwars both look very nice - NCsoft can do graphics very, very well. Performance isn't bad for me in either. Eq2 looked incredible on the highest settings but even with a state of the art machine it could be a bit laggy.

But that was like 3-4 years ago...MMOs today far surprasses the graphics of FFXI, tho the game is still fun :O

RF online looks like it has good graphics,
i might be mistaken though
EQ2 has the most advanced graphic engine as it is NEWer.
Lineage II has the best artwork while it is an older game so of course its technology is older.
