Extra Character Slots for Purchase, when?

in Guild Wars

So does anyone know when the extra character slots will be available to buy? Or even just a hunch?

I'm dying to complete my profession "set" with 2 extra character slots. (Or even 3 allowing one spot for PvP)

    Last I heard there isn't any intention of adding new character slots for sale.

    They seem to imply that only with expansion updates will you get new slots.  But you have to own previous versions.  Such as if you just buy prophecies you get 4 slots, if you buy jsut factions you get 4.  If you buy prophecies and factions you get 6 slots.

    Haven't heard anything otherwise, so that's what I'm gonna go with.  Rumors are often not worth the paper or pixels that they use.

    We are happy to announce that you will be able purchase additional character slots for your Guild Wars account beginning this summer for $9.99 U.S. (or equivalent). Each new slot will enable you to add a new character to your account with full access to all of the content your current characters enjoy. We'll have more details to share soon!

    It is summer over there now, right? Just wondering if it was close...I have a hunch it'll start around this festival weekend...but who knows.

    Doesnt count as you're still left with the 1 free slot for pvp in the end.

    Wow, I hadn't seen that yet.  Obviously I must have missed it.  That is definately interesting to see.  Beyond that article I haven't heard anything about it.

    Depending on which office they are talking about, it could be summer already, or nearly there.  I would expect to hear something in the near future then.  Not that it matters to me, I really only use one char, the rest of mine just mule things for everyone else.

    It can't be too soon at this rate.  I'm in the same position as you.  I've got 5 RP chars I use for unlocking skills, which leaves me only 1 slot for PVP.  Its a pain in the ass to have to delete your guy every time you want to switch classes =(

    I thought i had heard that you would be able to buy slots for 9 or 10 dollars...well perhaps it is an idea...::::02::

    It is true that it is quite annoying to have only 4 slots for GW and 6 for GWF...

    You only get 6 if you have both Factions and Prophecies.  If you have just one or the other you should only get 4 slots to use.

    But why not just us the RP character to do PvP?  That's what I use and I've never had a problem with it yet.  I use my monk in many GvG and AvA battles, and I just went out and bought what I needed and I've got the exact same thing as a PvP monk char I'd build.

    Yeah, that's true, I wasn't clear enough ^^.
    And it is also true that i use my RP char to make PvP (even if it isn't strong enough yet ^^)
