i was doing pvp battles the other day and i got a ton of faction (all trappers!) and then all the sudden it went away. My friend said there was a faction cap, is that true?

There is a 10k faction cap.  If you hit 10k it shouldn't disappear.  It should just stick at 10k and go no higher.  I've had that happen a couple of times.

Faction does degrade over time though.... every couple of days it will drop.

If it just completely disappeared you may have a bug.

Not sure what else it could be unless you redeemed for factional rewards and/or faction transfer.

You were probably fighting the Zaishen, the NPCs meant to train players how to do PvP.  You can earn 1,000 faction from killing Zaishen per day.  That's probably the cap you're talking about.
