Which MMO do you think has the best magic system? In term of, graphics, animations, and dynamics.
I like the graphics and animations of EQ2, but I also like the elemental weaknesses and magic burst system of FFXI.

but there are very limited animations in EQ2's magic system, and sounds during incantation.. and well..lack of any sound during incantations
Lineage 2 has the best spell effects, best animations during casting, best incantation sounds and best sound effects. Not just that, but it also has the best combat, action, emote, graphics in general

I like Ryzom's magic. You can customize your spells with "stanzas" and "credits." For example, to create a spell that potentially does double damage as well as attacking two of an enemy's weaknesses, you would use a double spell type, and then add, say, Fire and Shockwave. Then you'd add credits (Sap (you'd know it as Mana or MP), HP, casting time, and spell range) to meet the "cost" of the spell so that it can be used. The resulting spell would cast Fire and Shockwave at the target simultaneously. So if you don't know which they have a higher resistance to, you can try both at the same time. And maybe they'll fail to resist both, and you'll do double the damage. But you must pay a higher price in Sap/HP with a shorter-range spell that takes longer to cast. Though, if you're willing to use a LOT of Sap and HP, you can reduce the other two credits. Or you can max the range credit so you have to get pretty close to your target to cast, and pay less Sap, HP, and casting time. Etc.
Each creature (PvE) and player (PvP) has different resists and protections against various spells and forms of magic. So you have to "know thy enemy."
On top of that, the spell effects are rather pretty. ^_^

If you into being total gay. I mean not only that the magic casting characters look like total gay - but they also all chant the very same sound that is extremely annoying - and sounds well very gay ....
Female characters again have sound of 4 year old girl and have animation of their skirt blowing up ...
So very very infantile , japanese hentai manga like ...
Also if you like to see some real "cool" spell casting casting tou will have to play over a year or so .. heh

Apsolutely nothing
I just perfer my spellcaster to look and feel sinister or at least heroic and wise - somerhing like Khelben, Saruman or Merlin , Gandalf..etc
And not like Chris Rock character in 5th element , or one of the hosts of queer eye for the straight guy ...
And excuse me L2 spellcasters look like they rather be choosing matching acessories for their new gucci bag and polishing their nails than slaying monsters or other players ...

I agree with what someone said before, Saga of Ryzom`s spell customisation and editing makes it the most immersive magic system i`ve seen,
after level 125 also the spells look awsome, and the ability to combine animations to create unique ones eg. fire + electricity spells where the spellcaster jumps high in the air with fire in thier hands, charges it up and turns into a firery electricity ball that fires at the enemy
