Seriously though, youve been preaching the demise of swg for several months now and for every month swg looks even better.

I dont predict a demise... but telling me after three years this (is looking better) -- now that is funny...

Clueless'ness of the day award.... no doubt lol.

I find it funny that you even state that it has taken months to "appear" better to yourself... that in it's own right is a joke..lol

I like Pre-NGE better, but calling it challenging is just rediculous. The person is right also. All the people flaming SOE and the current subscribers are the ones who sound like the kiddie player base, not the ones that are playing it now. I have yet to see immaturity from the subscribers on this forum like I have seen from the vets. If your calling the complaining and flaming vets mature, then I am very immature and should go play the NGE as well.

Did you ever try the crafting side of the game?  If you never did, you really missed out on something that was completely engrossing and challenging.   Shame that with the NGE you will never be able to experience that side of the game.

What escapes me is the logic at SOE.  Pre-CU subs were in the hundreds of thousands (I won't quote some exact number, because I don't know it).  Then, they decided they weren't reaching enough of the "20 million Star Wars Fans" (@Helios), so they fundementally alter the game.  Subs dramatically decline.  Then they decide that the game is not "Starwarsy" or "Iconic" enough, so they fundementally alter the game again.  Subs dramatically decline even further.  Over time, subs increase, but the increase by comparison to pre-CU numbers is marginal.

You have a recipe that lots of people like, and you decide to experiment by changing the ingredients.  Each time you alter the recipe, there's more and more left over, because fewer and fewer people are eating it.  What does a lucid individual do?  Do they continue with the altered recipe under the assumption that there are probably millions of people somewhere just dying for it?  Or do you go back to the original recipe and continue to serve that while experimenting with other dishes?  The answer is so obvious you have to wonder how SOE is even still in business with such genius at the helm.

However, I think P.T. Barnum already predicted when SWG would close down:  "There's a sucker born every minute."  What SOE is hoping for is not a piece of the "20 million Star Wars Fans."  Rather, they're looking for a piece of the "20 million people who don't know what they've missed."  As long as that is always a possibility, SWG will go on and on and on and on and on...

Xcathdra I do not recall me asking you for your reason why you are upset by SWG. Nor do I ever recall talking to you or asking you anything in this regard. And I am unsure from my post how you would figure that I even asked anything about any person’s reason for their dislike of SWG.  You post this sort of information on a regular basics everyday. I don’t believe there is really anything here that is new, if there is please clarify what it is for me. Thank you for your time.

Damn byotch dat aint no friggn moon fool, dat be a friggn space station byotch.

In a way I will say this for the NGEr's I really wished that they could go to the summits somehow... because what is said there and what is done on the forums is TWO different things.

When you can corner a Dev and ask him "Oh lets say Grant" -- at "Oh lets say the Bria table" -- and ask him What happend to the UI?  Why is it so cumbersome and grainy?, Why is it that we cannot move it around and adjust it like we could the prior versions that were better?  Why did they change this and where was the valid reason they did it?  Why did they really change it?   "And lets say his response, in front of two full tables was "I just don't know, I'm sorry?" --- is his reply?   And when you hear things spun in your face by people you THOUGHT had a clue... you then realize just how fucked up this is.

I really wish you could hear what people really said on the mic's, or what they said to the Devs... (NOT, what the Devs said to us... thier replies were so candid and watered down fodder, they would make even Bill Clinton proud)... "I tired to smoke Pot, but I did not inhale"...... Yep... along those lines.

Hmmm ... I'd be interested in hearing what Admikker's inside source has to say on the subject. ^_^

The joys of delegation. Of course, that only works, if there's someone in the chain that actually does the work, or if the delegation doesn't result in a cycle.

With "I don't know" there are two options. He doesn't know, because UI is not his department, and they cannot communicate with that department, since communication is only unidirectional towards common report, or, the cannot say because of various behind-the-scenes deals. Such as, LEC forcing this, or worse, a department head who is married to major stockholder's sister made the decision.

Or, in the worst case possible (this happens a lot), it's a long ago proposed design, that has through the changes in pipeline resulted in this being implemented. It was never designed to be implemented, it was never put into pipeline, it was never aproved or finished. What did happen, is when management cleaned the plans through several phases, in one of them this document floated up, and got pushed under priority. Nobody really knows why, how or when, and all people that were at some time involved in any way have left years ago, not just the company, but business itself.

From what became obvious now through several blogs and statements, NGE was developed or at least started development even before or around CU. This was referenced at the author's blog, where he mentions the dates and implementation.

So in the end, CU was from the start a bogus concept that was never to be developed.

Pfft. Yea no kidding. It is about time everybody up here started pulling out their moles and double agents for info, again.

Anyways, who cares when the plug will be pulled, if ever. If you dont play the game, why the hell do you even care? Youre just occupying your mind with crap that is basically irrelevent to you. That goes for anybody in this same mindset. Just move on and forget it guys like I have, NGE or pre-cu it dosent and wont matter in the future, there are much better things out there.
