I hear, taking a courtyard is a blast with nerfed tanks.

Told you guys that nerfing tanks wasn't the answer, players will just migrated to the 2nd most powerful unit in the game, and grinded harder towards their (i-win-button) OS.

The OS isn't really that much of an annoyance, aslong as the Court Yard is surrounded. Yeah tanks are nerfed, but it doesn't really ruin an attack if OS'ed. OS is usually saved for AMS spawn points anyway....unless there really is a large group of infintry outside a door, but you still have a slight chance to escape if your lucky. I have done a few times.

As a 3 year player I can answer your questions I guess

Mossie farming - same as it always has been.  The first week noobs who stand around in the open get farmed.  The guys who still don't relize footzerging from a tower when outpopped..yep they still get farmed.   The rest of us ?  never really been a problem, I'd have to actually try to die to a mossie sniping.


OS's - Again, same as always.  Those same uber guys getting owned by mossies also have a obsession with getting in a vehicle  pad que and then just standing there in the way until the inivitable OS comes down and rocks em.  The only OS that should ever kill you is the one that comes down on that AMS you just spawned at, can't do much about that.  Any other time though someone must have ethier been afk or part of the useless zerg on a hilltop somewhere to die to one.

Taking courtyards - No diffrent.  Planetside has always been and will always be about numbers.  The larger population will always eventually take the courtyard.  The vehicles being used are irrelevant.  It's all about whos zerg is bigger.

Far as nerfing tanks,  I'm going to assume you mean the rather old AV patch that came out.  Really didn't change a whole lot gameplay wise other than the fact the TR now have one nasty AV max.  I couldn't really give you great details since I'm one of the guys dropping on bases/re-securing hacks.  Playing the long range/door camping tanker stalemate thing just isnt for me.  Need to be indoors to make a diffrence.

Btw though man, tanks were never the number 1 way to farm.  That has always been and still is Aircav, second being maybe flail whoring in a 3-way stalemate.

Now if your hoping to just basicly make a point that PS sucks,  AV patch isnt the way.  A better approach would be to make fun of the fact that 1 in every 3 players these days is ethier dependent on unimax or rexo/plasma spamming to get kills.  Use that one next time dude on the offcial boards,  I love watching those carrer forum users freak out.

They nerfed Vehicles? BWaahahah please I see more then ever on teh field now.. And if we want to be real here, Vehicles are the number one reason why this game bombed so bad in subscription numbers... People came to play a FPS game (ala CS, UT, Doom) not a vehicles simulator, prior to the infamous "Balance Pass" patch that brought us more vehicles then soldiers in this game PS had its highest sub numbers after the "Balance Pass" (what a freaking name btw) Subs have went down and down... Like I was saying to some of the more skilled people who played this game tonight, PS could have been great but they forgot that people play FPS games to show of there skilll not to hide in Vehicles which require no skill.. AT ALL.



Stupid SOE Developers, Vehicles should compliment a FPS game, not dominate it.. Lets hope Huxley developers understand this.

As someone who is more into Gal Drops than Mossies (meat shields ftw), i've had the priveliege of advancing behind a pair of Comet MAXes many times, and even the NC one (eagle or falcon? can never remember) on occasion. i can tell you - they are ALL sh*t-hot.

as someone who got Silver and then Gold MAX Buster awards within two days of each other last week, i can advise you: AV rocks them, still.

MA: 2 cert points.
RExo: 3 cert points.
AV: 3 cert points.
Taking out a full-health SplatterMAX from point blank range: priceless.

Hmmm Mossie farming?  Last mossie that tried to farm me died a horrible flaming death   AA Rocklette FTW!

Dying to OS?  Are you high?  Unless you're spawning at an AMS that is in the process of having an OS dropped on it I've NEVER died to an OS.

Armor nerf?  Nah that was an AV Buff a while ago.  Armor hasn't been 'changed' really.  It's just easier to kill them now (which is a GOOD thing, imo).

PS is a fun game.... not worth a monthly fee, imo, but a fun game nonetheless   I love my Reserves account   I can hop on whenever I want... go out and kill a bunch of wannabe's and be offline in time to watch House   All without paying a dime

Planetside borrows heavilly on the worse aspects of the gaming market:

-Farming for experience, so you can get your I-win-button OS, death ray from the sky, and other uber-toys which require zero skill to use.

-Zero tactical depth, spawn die spawn die spawn die spawn die.  Before the vehicle nerf it was possible to break stalemates with tanks.  So players migrated to the 2nd most powerful farming piece of equipment, planes or snipers.  But tanks were the best stalemate breakers so now its a spawning contest, whoever spawns the fastest wins.  Outzerg your opponent.  Outspawn your opponent, its a one dimensional game.

-Spam.  From CR5 global spam to reaver spam, its everything.  No thought involved, just point your gun in the direction of the enemy spawn point and spam whatcha got.

There you have it, planetside.
