Well sence i have another 2 days until Hero online goes into open beta, i thought i would write another review/guide of the game brought to you by Ourselves.
In the begging of any mmorpg you start out as a naked first weilding fighter till you can hit level 2 and equip the starting weapons in your inventory. Each of the starting charters has diffrent kinds of weapons they can choose from. I have seen some people with multipal weapons but it usally isn't a good idea to spread out your skill points so much just so you can change to a cooler looking sword.
After you grind/ quest your way up to level 10 you can choose your first class! You can be 4 diffrent classes witch makes a bigger difrence to your game then the starting charter you choose. Hunter, Warrior, preist, and Assisins each with diffrent starting skills. You will also be able to buy your first skill book from the book dealer that will give you attack skills. You might think that when you buy these books you automaticly can do some new and exciting new moves. WRONG! First you have to have enof skill points to input into your books witch will unlock the skills/ strenghten them so that you wont be so week.
Here is a breif expanation of classes:
Warrior : Starting powers are HP(Health points) skill that allows you to increase your maximun life.Along with his +10 defence +20 magic dmg buff skill that is all he gets at level 10. But from what iv played in closed beta his buff does not add to magic dmg of skills but just regular attacking.
Priest : Heal heal heals...you probbly get buffs later but alot of people played it got bored then deleted the charterl. The only one of the classes i have not played personaly and maybe the last i will make.
Assasins: You get all that cool assisin stuff, Stealth (very handy) Sence stealth, and life leach attack skill that takes alot of energy. They also get a passive skill that adds to your dodge rate as well as your accuracy. (witch kind of gets useless sence skills do not require accuracy to hit mosters. )
Hunter: I would say one of the most popular classes to play. The hunters start out with a passive +defence skill and the ability to make pets from certain mosters you find around the world! Once you get high enof you can start riding Reindeer Lions black worfs ect ect.. Have yet to see what other mounts they will put in. You also have to level up your pets to ride them witch i hear can be anoying later on.
How you get these skilpoints is probbly a split of your experiance is thrown into your skill bar. Unlike Cabal online where you have to do 10000 sword skills to upgrade your sword styles, you have 1 skill menu to level up and all skills fall under that skill experiance.
If you are saying to yourself that it sounds like another Korean mmorpg/grind, it is. But unlike some other crazy 12 hour level upp (LoA, L2, ect..) there areways of making your leveling go faster. All classes have AoE skills (Area of Effect) witch will allow you to hit multipal mosters at once so you dont find yourself going one, by one mindlessly killing anything in your path. With any mmorpg AoE killing is the most efficant way to level up and thank god they gave AoE skills to all classes! You wont be so lucky in other mmorpgs...grrr i hate you risk your life.
So after you are leveling up adding stat points to your chareters doing kill task, delivery quest and unlocking new equipment you can start to see more and intresting things as you level up. From getting to ride a horse and other rides at level 20, to getting a flying book at level 30 witch you can put skill points into and zoom around the air like a crowtching tiger warrior with a hell bent attuide, and big sword.
I know i know, its a Korean game. So you WILL have to grind, and you should get used to it. But the good thing about it is once it goes open beta you can keep your chareters and its free to play! FOREVER!, or until they go bankrupt and have to shut down servers...WITCH EVER HAPENS FIRST! AFter playing Cabal online, Legend of Ares, Deicide, space cowboy, and a whole bunch more mmorpgs. I would say this is probbly one of the better ones to incert your time into. With the numerouise numbers of mounts, hopefully a nice pvp factor to come when realease and infonate posibilty of skills to unlock(expantions or just high level stuff ) you might feel you have more of a game with this one then others. One problem though, server chat can be very anoying with little kids cursing saying PWNED and no ignore abilitys when i played!
So have fun playing, as always my spelling sucks, my gramer is terrible and you witty comments PWN me. I might just write some more reviews when im bored..who knows.
