Is it just me or does everyone hate SWG so much that everytime they think about something to come they think 'God I hope they dont pull a SWG'? I have been reading the Games in Dev threads and i have noticed this alot. Why cant ppl just give it up? All you are doing is geting ppl that havnt tried it to go find out what all the talk is about.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Exactly , SWG is the perfect example of what the devs can't do. I hope any developers or people in charge will think differently now if they thought they could just totally dis-respect the customer base - totally changing a game and getting rid of some peoples 2 years of work on their characters. All we can hope for is that other companys will look at what happened to SWG's subscriber numbers after they implimented the NGE and think twice about screwing over their customer base to try and make a qiuck buck.
If anybody wants to know what i'm talking about with such things as the NGE i suggest you have a look at the SWG boards here , you'll notice posts upon posts just flameing $OE.
I hope phrases like "pull an $OE" and "more starwarsy and iconic" and others will continue to go on stong and stop people playing $OE games.
It's not a question of giving it up for a lot of us- we already did 'give it up' by cancelling our subscriptions. But yah, you are going to hear comparisions between SWG and other games when they do things people don't like, and you may as well 'give it up' with complaining about it.
edit: as far as it causing other people to play, thats no problem for me, although personally when I see a community ripping on a game for seven months, I don't think, hum maybe thats something I should try. But if someone who hasn't played swg before wants to try it, go for it. If mostly empty servers don't bother them (although I've heard Bria at least is doing a bit better to be honest) they might enjoy themselves at least for a while... as long as they play with the understanding that the developers may completely redo the game at any time.
